Another question on 3.1.3

So my brother accidently upgraded to 3.1.3 on his 2nd gen already jailbroken itouch and it deleted the jailbreak. big surprise. But what i've came here to ask it that i SHSH backupped my 3.1.2 3rd generation itouch onto my computer and im wondering if he could use that SHSH to be able to use it as a jailbroken itouch? Or is there another way he can rejailbreak it at all. I don't think the whole him using my SHSH will work because of the different bootroms but who knows i could be wrong. Any suggestions?

You can jailbreak it with redsn0w 0.9.4
select 3.1.2 IPSW in redsn0w and do the usual process

okay so this might make me sound stupid. but i have never actually used redsn0w. lol i jailbroke both devices myself the only thing is, is that i used blackra1n each time. but i guess i could give it a shot. I couldn't be that hard, could it? just send me a link to it and maybe a rough instruction guide if you could. Thanks

is it a MC model itouch 2g?
if its a MB, there is no ecid
and to your first post, no that wont work, every ecid is unique to each device.

im not sure the model of it. i downloaded that one program by 1h8snow that tells you but havent had a chance to check. but yeah i just found out about the whole every ones different thing

I just bought another iTouch from a pawn shop and it had been updated by the staff, so the guidance though 3.1.3's minefield has been great.

i might have to start getting some of these "throw away" itouches and iphones. They are very valuable when your trying out somewhat iffy products and other stuff like that
