iPhone 4 restore problems? Error 3041

Guys,

Just had a torrid day today. So let me try to sum up and hopefully It can help someone else in my predicament.

Firstly had a problem with my iPhone 4 (thats a different long story).
So decided to restore via iTunes to see if that helped.

Basically it didn't! kept getting Error 3041 when the final part was being installed. No matter which computer I used e.g. vista, xp, se7en etc.

even rang apple complimentary support in US to see if they could help but they just tried to fob me off!

Anyways, the only thing that fixed it was a program called RecBoot. This just removed it out of Recovery Mode. Not sure if its just my device or maybe a problem with all iOS4\iPhone 4's.

Let me know if this helps or info on the above error as could help others. Instead I was just banging my head against a wall!

Could have taken back to apple genius store but next appointment was available in 2 days! couldn't wait! so used 'Google'

i HAVE NOT SEEN THAT ERROR BEFORE ??

normally error 3000 is because phone cant contact gs.apple.com apple server a port problem or not enough disk space on computer

Does it again get a new phone of them

Yeah will give it back if pops back again. Only 5 days old! What do u think I should do? Try restore and then give it back or just wait until I need to restore again and hope it doesn't eff up again!

I was on a proxy at work but at home everything should be fine??

Hopefully no restores anytime soon.

BTW anyone on o2 got a problem with network coverage today?
Reason y I restored because it seemed like my phone was barred as I had full reception but could not make or receive calls/texts.
Called o2 and they stated go change micro sim. Got another one but phone kelt saying no service. So restored unsuccessfully. Just wondering if I have a dud phone or summat.

But all working fine so far with new sim 'touch wood'!
