3G and iTouch 2G now have "soft" SHSH blobs for iOS4 and Higher- READ

Those of you with jailbroken iPhone3G and ipt2G devices may now have noticed Cydia starting to save your SHSH blobs too, just like it does for iPhone3GS, ipt3G and later devices. That’s because starting with 4.0, Apple started putting a “soft” SHSH blob check in the firmware. The SHSH blob check is very real in the sense that if iTunes can’t get your blobs (because the Apple signing window has closed), the iTunes restore will error out. But it’s “soft” in the sense that those devices can always use redsn0w or PwnageTool to get past the error (the bootroms themselves for those devices don’t require blobs to be in the firmware files, unlike the newer bootroms). Furthermore, since the 3.x firmwares for these devices don’t enforce it, you can always restore to 3.x IPSWs outside of any signing windows.

So, Cydia is doing this to allow you to continue to use iTunes to restore to 4.x on iPhone3G and ipt2g outside of Apple’s signing window without needing to use redsn0w or PwnageTool to get around Apple’s annoying new restriction.

I am checking into it. I clicked the "Make my life easier" and it says, "This device has a pending TSS request."
Guess I need to check out Tiny Umbrella.

Hi there;
I was reading your posts and i discovered that my 3G has for the first time 2 shsh files in cydia data, the first one was for 3.1.3 and the second one was for 3.2 --> why 3.2 i have no idea

, will someone please explain this to me !

Cydia restores 3.1.2 , 3.1.3 and 3.2 ... this is an case you need to restore to these firwmare version ... not to say you have ever updated to 3.1.3 or 3.2 I know I have not but cydia says the same thing... the request sometimes takes a while to process so pending TSS request is fine means it has sent the request and next time you open cydia will confirm they have them on file... I've had to restore once although a pain in the ass from an app and settings point of view the SHSH on file saved me having to upgrade.

Always a good idea to keep a copy on your own machin just in case this is where tinu umbrella comes in ... whos to say saurik packs his bags and moves to alaska taking your SHSH offline ... rather not leave it to chance :-)

so I had 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 jailbroke yet, neither apple nor cydia have my 3.1.2 shsh blobs (not that i care, it has my 3.1.2) but i USED cydia on 3.1.3 and everything.. why does't it have my blobs? does the name changing change whatever identifier it uses?

i have an iphone 3gs new bootrom running ios 4.1(updated through itunes) and it never been jailbroken. i search through forums and Google, it states that tiny umbrella can save shsh without the need to jailbreak or even it's not a jailbroken device. but when i run save shsh in tiny umbrella, the shsh saved is only 4.2.1 and 4.3b2..

why 4.1 is not saved? and how am i going to save it or have the 4.1 blobs in my device saved. it's still running ios4.1.. anyone know how to solve it as those information i received is not so clearly explained? =(

It is to late for you to save 4.1 shsh-files.
You are only able to save them while apple is still signing them.... and that's not the fact anymore.

but your profile info says you are running 4.2! so am I missing something

aiks~ forget to state in here~ i have 2 iphone 3gs, mainly is 4.2.1 which i'm actively using, and another one is 4.1, which is in this post that i mean..
