Where does Cydia store downloaded .deb files?

I ask because there are a few applications I would like to back up on my computer because I have had to restore my iTouch 3 times in last month and it is a pain going through and adding sources and applications through cydia. I would like to just ssh the .deb's onto my iPod and then install them with ifile. I fear though, that cydia automatically deletes the .deb's upon installation but I need to make sure :P

When i successfully install a package off of Cydia and want to backup the deb,I without closing cydia SHH into iphone and browse into Var/Cache/Apt/Archives and I find the deb there so I save it onto Computer.

i use iphone pc suite
i find it the most powerful pc program to iphone
one of the things you can do with this app:
you can browse every cydia source, download debs, and if you want, you can install them in one shot via cable or wifi
it came handy last time i did restore, all the deb was alredy in my pc, just picked the ones i wanted to install, and bamm.
there is also a lot of other cool thing in this app u can use to mange your iphone, and it can be done via wifi which i think is the best

Icon6 I know where! And how to get them, without a computer!!!

First, Have iFile, Backgrounder (search it in Cydia) and, Cydia.

Next, open iFile and go to "Var/Cache/Apt/Archives".

Now, exit iFile and open Backgrounder. Select "Overides" and then "add"

Find Cydia, and add it. Now, click on Cydia (in Backgrounder) and then the black spinner.

Next, select even if unsupported.

Open Cydia!!!

Find the .deb file you want and install.

When it is finished, don't exit Cydia yet.

If on 4.0 and up, double click the home button and select iFile.

Otherwize, Cydia is running in the multitask on foreground. (Warning, device will go SLOW)

In iFile, look for the file. Move it!!!

There you go. Now you can install it without Internet!!!

Their are some .deb files I would like to have backups of as well. Do you see any issue with reinstalling a .deb so that I can make the backup? Would it overwritht user data for those apps?

Thx
