Custom iPhone 3g 4.2.1 restore, Auto Activation Firmware for carrier locked users. Any Sim.

Today I Had an idea so crazy that it might just of worked..
i have an iphone 3g locked to At&t, but i live in australia.
i am sick of having to hacktivate ios4 then deal with battery drain.
So i created a firmware with samprefs pre installed, so any sim will work with this restore file.

The restore file has ultrasn0w and samprefs pre installed, so there is no batter drain, and the phone will activate with any sim card and be usable straight away, with no cydia hassles.

so what i am asking is will anyone want me to upload the file?
because there is no point uploading if no one wants it.

This firmware is a baseband preserver, the baseband will not be touch. Users that have the ipad 6.15.00 baseband CAN use this.

Part 1: iPhone1,2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore_Unlock_Activate_Edition.7z.001
Part 2: iPhone1,2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore_Unlock_Activate_Edition.7z.002
Part 3: iPhone1,2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore_Unlock_Activate_Edition.7z.003
Part 4: iPhone1,2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore_Unlock_Activate_Edition.7z.004

Steps:
1: Download the Above four files, Extract using 7zip to the desktop.

2: Make sure itunes is closed for the following step. Put your device into pwnd DFU mode using redsn0w or iREB. Download ireb from here: http://ih8sn0w.com/index.php/products/view/ireb.snow Follow on screen instructions in iREB.

3: Once your device is in pwned dfu, open itunes, hold SHIFT then click restore, and navigate to the custom firmware and select it. The phone will restore, this can take up to 15 minutes so be patient.

4: Once the restore has finished, wait for the phone to boot. once it has come to the activate screen, UNPLUG the phone.

5: Wait for the iphone to pick up signal, once it has plug your iphone back in.

6: your iphone will activate, viola!

7:enjoy!

NOTE: push notifications will most probably not work, due to a legit sim card not being used. This is the case for most unlockers using 4.1 or 4.2 due to the nature of the firmwares to check for valid push certificates constantly. Some people may get lucky though.

it is a pre jailbreaking firmware, also an auto activation firmware.
ultrasn0w and samprefs pre-installed.

Work on 3G BB 6.15
Just put in DFU mode use iREB,than restore with itunes. Restart twice than unlocked
But cannot multitap.....

did it unlock automatically?

we can open more than one apps,when we close that app will be in hidden dock.
we can close it by pressing home button twice.
i think battery is good

Good to hear its working for other people too

Yes sorry, i have not enabled multitasking natively, you must do that yourself, there are many methods out there.

This firmware is iphone 3g stock jailbroken, so multitasking and homescreen wallpapers are not enabled.

Does this firmware include the baseband update to 06.15.00? I'm just looking for a plain iPhone 3G iOS 4.2.1 activated firmware (with NO baseband update whatsoever).

no, the firmware will preserve your current baseband.

Just DFU with iReb and SHIFT+restore it, and you're set to go?
Man, that's the perfect all-in-one solution! Nice work!
One last question: any need to configure SAM or the couple of restarts do the trick?

Yes that was the idea, to have everything in one so there was no installing of additional apps, just restore and go with any sim.

Yes, activated with sam, baseband preserved and ultrasn0w 1.2 installed.
Yes, DFU with iREB and shift restore.
Nothing needs to be configured, its all done for you.
