iPhone 3GS with 4.3.3 BB 5.16.02

Alright guys, I need some help. My friend gave me his old iPhone since mine is broken, and i'm using T-Mobile on a shitty flip phone. I need help doing a few things.

A: My power button is broken. I know there's a workaround to entering DFU mode, but I haven't been successful with it. So If you guys could help that'd be great.

B: Once it's in DFU mode, I need to figure out how I can unlock it with this baseband, or would I need to upgrade it to a newer baseband - say 6.15 or something?

It has been a very long time since i've had to mess with all of this stuff, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

A few things: A, i've tried doing that technique via windows & it doesn't work for some reason, mind helping?

B: Does that guide work with 4.3.3?

I followed the guide on how to get it into DFU mode... it doesn't work. Help please? D:

Keep trying. Go to youtube and watch a video on how to put ur phone in dfu mode wothout home button. Use redsnow 9.6rc5 to update ipad baseband. U need to read first b4 updating to ipad baseband. U might lose ur gps.
