Downgrade iOS 4.0.2 to iOS 4.0.1 / 4.0 iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch [How to Guide]

I changed the host file and everything, yet for some reason I'm unable to find any of my backups . I'm at where all the backups are at, yet it won't show anything there.

itunes won't recognize the backups . Anybody know how to fix this?

It's most likely the 4.0.2 "fix" by Apple for the PDF Exploit of Jailbreakme.com. Not sure, I'm just guessing.

If you didn't save your ssh blobs when you were on 3.1.3, then you are screwed.

I thought 3g could downgrade without ssh blobs must be my mistake

I have a Iphone 4 that's on 4.0.1 Recently I updated an app and it wouldn't boot up after that. It gets stuck on the apple logo screen then it has that round circle going round and round for about 1 min then if just re-boots and goes in a circle.

I didn't save my SHSH blobs with Tinyumbrella.

But I think Cydia Might have backed up My SHSH blobs.

I've edited and Saved my Host file in Windows to 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

But Every time I try to downgrade with itunes it gives me this error:


The Iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An Unknown error occurred (3194)

I cant gain permission to save the line...'74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com' into /etc/.
even after i set permissions for this file to read/write.

is there something i am missing??
