So I've be searching for a while. Is there anything at all that can be done to unlock 5.14.02? Can I go back to 4.0.2 or even 3.1.3? I'm about to try it with the custom ipsw of this site, but how do you use it when it's in 2 parts? Will something prompt me to use part 2? I'm out of the country and really need my 3g unlocked!

redsn0w_win_0.9.5b5-5 works great to JB a 3G iPhone on iOS 4.1. if you need too use recboot to kick it out of recovery mode.

For those with windows and not mac

If you have windows you won't be able to install pwnage tool (latest version) and make your own custom firmware some say to install vm workstation hard to find and then you have to download vm workstation's Mac os leopard some version 2.3 gb and all of this to make your own firmware and after all of this when I was making the firmware after like 20 min the program wrote error. Solution just download a custom firmware from somewhere I think maybe 300 or 400 mb and continue with step 5.
