MMS With Straight TALK iPHONE 4S
I've Been Trying To Figure Out How To Get My MMS Working, Because Everyone I Asked Said To Jailbreak It, But I Did And It Still Don't Work. I Used Cydia. FYI.
Please Help Me, Not To Sound Like A Pathetic Teenage Girl, But I Need My MMS Messaging.

Did you install "tetherme" tweak from cydia via the sinful iPhone repo or insanelyi repo yet?

Why wouldn't you just post it here for everybody to see? PMs doesn't benefit anybody trying to learn...
Personally I'm having MMS issues with my factory unlocked 4S with Straight Talk (my old iPhone 4 isn't an issue).... I can receive MMS but cannot send them

ALERT: two friends ditched AT&T For straighttalk. all was well until they hit 8gb. Then they got their data yanked.
Can I install the new MYWI with tetherme installed? I don't wanna screw up my great working 4s...

Why the need for mywi? Tetherme enables native hotspot via USB, wifi, bluetooth, data...

i havent tried this on a 4s yet....but it has worked on many many 3,3gs and 4.
But if you want MMS to work, you will need to jailbreak your phone,
Then follow these instructions after your phone is jailbroken and is booted into cydia.
search (in cydia) for TetherME and install it. It costs $1.99, not a big deal.
UPDATE: A bit of an update, you no longer have to install TetherMe APN Editing, the new version of TetherMe already includes TetherMe APN Editing. So skip the installation of TetherMe APN Editing below
After you purchase it and install it, search for and install TetherME APN Editing, its free. <---NO LONGER NEEEDED! READ ABOVE!!!
(The reason for installing TetherMe is to gain access to the Cellular Data Network tab, without it, you cant get MMS to work!!!)
After TetherMe is installed, exit cydia and go to your home screen.
Go to Settings, then General, then Network, then click on Cellular Data Network
This is what your settings should look like!
Cellular Data
APN: att.mvno
Username:
Password:
Visual Voicemail <----dont know the settings for this one yet, will update it when I figure it out!
MMS
APN: att.mvno
Username:
Password:
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com

Yeah I've done this countless times before on my iPhone 4 but this 4S is being stubborn (has been known to have issues with straight talk MMS for some 4S users)...
I believe it may have something to do with the two different versions of 5.0.1 (I have the original version and not the revised baseband one which I believe may have fixed this)...
Lame as shit.... because my phone is setup exactly how I want it except MMS don't work and some cydia tweak(s) is causing my battery to drain noticeably faster..
My only "fix" to this currently is to just upload a picture onto that person's facebook page via "Facely HD" app... bleh...

I just checked my settings and they are different:
this is what I have
apn use att.mvno
MMSC use http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy use: wireless.cingular.com:80 <------ this is different
MMS Max Message size use 1048576
give it a try, let us know!

I did the same before I update to 5.0.1 the mms worked good! After updatedto 5.0.1 and jb got tetherme did same thing but could not send pic. try many ways still not work. I have to use text free to send pic. Any one have luck please post the way you did to share with everyone, thnks.

The reason behind me not wanting to post it out in the open is that I want to give something to sinful and if I just post it out in the open, webcrawlers such as google can just post it on their page. If I do it this way, I can give something to the community. Also, the method I use, I have not found a tutorial on the internet for it and its something I spent hours figuring out on my own when I updateed my 4s to 5.1 due to issues with a tweak I installed.

MyWi works as a router, and has more networking options. Needed for my line of work. Tetherme acts as a hotspot instead.
and to answer my own question. yes you can have both installed. YAY!

arcangelmk is a legend, got my data & mms working on non-jailbroken 4s on 5.1...didn't even need to install unlockit profile!!
