how hard is it to downgrade from 5.1 to 5.0.1?!
Seriously how hard is it to downgrade from 5.1 to 5.0.1?! 
I considered myself rather good at this kinda stuff but yesterday I cocked up following anothers instructions resulting in a constant loop my phone would not shut down, force shut downs would be met by apples glowing logo seconds later
reluctantly I upgraded to 5.1 hoping to downgrade boy was I wrong...
12 hours,countless tuts',7 itunes errors and 3 different ispw's (2 custom one stitched) later and I have given up 
Whilst this thread is here for me to grumble any help would be nice

Try cleaning out your host file
Set tiny umbrella TSS server to on
Try Ireb for pwnd dfu mode
When entering dfu mode try holding the power and home button till it shuts off, don't release them just start your count as soon as the apple logo appears again
Reboot your pc
I know this is all advice you would give someone else but mayb you missed something

Try this sure as hell it will work
first of all verify your [Tiny umbrella] ios 5.0.1 SHSH if it contains APticket (Hope you know how to check that )
and then follow up this tut

Your likely to have custom 4x already made. Why not go back to 4x. Havw it installed properly then go up to 5.0.1. Just a thought

Create a custom ipsw using "iFaith-v1.4.2" and restore in pwned DFU mode.....this will definitely work....i have done this myself on my iPhone 3GS.
any lower version of iFaith gives errors....so only use iFaith-v1.4.2

Sadly I did that it gives be error 14 it's the latest software as I hit it from there site yesterday

It looks like most of my problems were caused by a redsnow DLL not downloading the APticket I would like to give a big thanks to AH for helping me via pm and to everyone who commented on my post
