confused Seeking prepaid smartphone or planning for car
I'd like to get another phone that doesn't penalize me for not using it- but I can't find one. The problem is that I expect to use the phone very little.
This is a phone I intend to keep in my car to phone ahead for last-minute take-out & restaurant reservations: "I'm sorry I'm running late" and similar minor emergencies... perhaps 4 or 5 times a year.
The nearest I've come to a solution is the GoPhone option to buy a year of time at one time... but that costs $100 and I refuse to pay $100 for 4 or 5 local calls!
I've find the HTC Freestyle Phone on amazon but there are tons of negative feedbacks and I also find a dirt cheap one from tinydeal ( $36.27 $41.60 - TinyDeal - 3.2 2-SIM Quad Band JAVA TV Bluetooth Cell Phone P05-TVI8 ) but I just don't konw whether or not tinydeal is trustworthy, are there any dear fellows have any experence in dealing with this website!
please just let me know if there is any better solution for a phone which I intend to use so rarely, I'm simply not willing to pay $100 a year for what is essentially a "minimal service fee"!

Your local gas station/convenience store should have one.

I hate to be a dick, because this reply doesn't answer your question but perhaps a little more information would be helpful.
Why would you not use your own primary phone for this purpose? Seems like keeping a phone in a car would be a bad idea anyway, the battery would be toast super fast in the summer heat.
If your looking to use a different number there are a lot of options with Google Voice/Skype/Viber etc.
Maybe if you provide a little more information we can figure out what to suggest.

...exactly what I was thinking. There has to be a better reason for needing this than wanting to order some takeout etc.

Wtf ???
How made Silence it to make a post without any content ?? Well @ least the post looks empty for me.
I have to write @ least 3 letters to make the board accept it as a post.
Now that pisses me off.I had already so much incidents where that would have been the appropriate answer.
And dont you have in America (its called here in germany prepaid elsewhere pay and go i guess ) sim cards that can be used in any phone ?
And who wasnt confused by the title..

It looks like Silence tried to post a picture but the link(pic) is dead....and yes in ALL OF THE AMERICAs we have pay as you go, desposable phone, etc.
There has to be more to this story but iphonepro is very busy and only has a New York minute to post.

---------- EDIT ----------
I found you a phone for your CAR
It's cheap and I hope it helps you out

I really dont get why he even needs such a thing. If hes looking to hide his calls for his secret mistress/girlfriend. Use Skype and just get skype credit; when you need to use the app unhide from the phone, and back to hiding it when you are done.

This thread is quite confusing, as frustrating as an albino hitchhiking in a snowstorm.
Although, the only logical reasons for having a disposable phone is:
1. Drug dealer
2. Mistresses/whores
3. If you're planning a hit on someone's head.
Which is which? Never heard of needing a disposable phone just to order take-outs or reserving a spot in a restaurant. That's what the original phone you have is for.
I MUST add that having a disposable phone is good for this scenario: You can't find your iPhone and have absolutely no internet access for the "Find My Phone" thing , you can always call your iPhone off the disposable phone and follow where the "ringing" is. That's about it...................... I think.
