You always get better battery life on an unjailbroken device but once the jailbreak is applied and start to tweak it out you'll definitely notice the drop.

Every phone I've owned has gotten better battery life due to jailbreaks.

You are all on crack if you state otherwise.

Could be true . . . would like to see someone make a poll here a few days after the 5.1.1 JB is released to truly see if our community notices a difference. Not sure if I feel like going through the hassle of upgrading for no reason.

it depends on what tweaks you use and how you set them up..

Well just removing launch dameons, removing the adsheet.app, modifying the host file, etc etc

Removes an unnecessary load from your phone only increasing battery life

Me personally, I just use grid lock, wifi booster, springtomize, and custom theme my phone. So I would be considered to be a light modder so to speak. Still the reasons above are valid for increasing battery life

id have to disagree, i believe all that which runs in mobilesub can hinder batt life to a good degree. i noticed it in my wives phone when i restored it.

If that's the case can't wait to try 5.1.1. with the new JB.

Now running 5.0.1 JB with the latest redsn0w and the battery is holding almost for two days.
(installed Zephyr, Switchy, SBsettings, Lockinfo, Springtomize, Barrel, Folderenhancer, Zeppelin, etc. apps)
SINFUL IPHONE KICK's ASS

Because you are removing daemons that are vital. The guide is pretty clear of what to remove and what not to remove to keep your device stable

I've tested 5.1.1 since day one on Old BR 3GS, jailbroke it and applied a bunch of tweaks, except Winterboard, Springtomize, Scrollingboard, Infini-whatever memory suckers, and it's faaaaaaaaaar better than any other 5.x fw. I used the same setup on 5.0.1 and had the same usage, for a comparison. I dare say that 5.1.1 is close to 20% better than 5.0.1!
Had I installed the above mentioned tweaks, I wouldn't be able to see that measure. Of course it depends on the tweaks you apply, but I assure you, 5.1.1 is great regarding battery performance.

i follow the list and instructions but there are certain apps from the apple app store that interact with certain daemons and you will notice odd things with some apps... but im good i just install the safest daemon mod version from cydia and all; is fine.. i have a 4S now so speed is never an issue at all..

I like the idea of a poll, I'm going to start keeping track of my usage for the next few days until the jailbreak then see after I jailbreak if theres a difference. But my 4s's battery is kicking ass since I updated to 5.1.1 and I restored from backup which I never do. Right now my 4s is at 73% with 1hr 58min of usage and 23hr 10min of standby. It definitely didn't get that on any other fw before 5.1.1.

Do apps still work after you removed adsheet?

Not for nothing and this is the first and last time i will mention this but i have a way to activate wifi when my bluetooth headset is turned on with my nokia n9. Its a shame i cant do this with activator or sbsettings. They both only have options for the wired headset.
This saves me a lot of battery life and aggravation to boot on my n9 and i'm sure it would on iOS too.
