Ipad2 wifi r2?

What the hell is this? I can not find anything that tells me what the hell this is. The only thing I found describes it as firmware thing, basically 5.1 and 5.1.1 is R2. Which it dont make much sense to me. Also, the possible new release for untether lists that it will jb the ipad2 wifi for sure on 5.1.1 but they have not tested the R2, which is what is not making sense to me on this as to the only explanation I have found.

Will someone please help me the fuck out!!! I am fucking going crazy over this stupid little shit of an issue. It is driving me up the fucking wall!!!

PS Nice bum btw (translation: 'bum' english for 'butt')

---------- EDIT ----------

Just found this to identify the offending R2 versions.
Looks like this was what was loaded originally by Apple when these ipads were first shipped:

iPad2,4_5.1_9B176
iPad2,4_5.1.1_9B206

Just check to see if yours is one of these

apple just did this so they could increase battery life of iPad 2. wait a week or two, the jb would come out for the v2 iPad 2, it has better security measures than the original iPad 2 chip so it'll take a while

Ipad2 wifi r2 = Ipad 2,4 which has a different processor than the original ipad 2.
You can use Battery Life Pro to find out if your iPad is a 2,4. Battery Life Pro is free and has a button with the picture of a computer chip on it. Touch that and then go to System Info and you have your information.

Battery Life Pro

You can also download & install a free app called " linpack" from app store . After installed to your ipad , tap on it , it will display your version .

If yours is iPad 2,4 / 2 cores / 1000 MHz then not supported by Absinthe yet which is my case at this time !

A month or two ago after the new ipad was released the second generation ipad received a new processor. They changed the processor for better battery life and performance. Older models do not apply to Absinthe 2.0 rule. If you had purchased your ipad before the new Ipad was released then you are definitely ok. If you purchased your 2nd generation ipad after the new ipad was released you must check your model id before updating and losing your jailbreak.

other than linpack and geekbench what's the way to tell if you have an ipad 2,4?

i'm sure hardware looks the same. how about the starting serial numbers?
i may disagree violently with what you say but i will fight to death your right to say it

having to find out if you have 2,4 is NOW moot and academic.

you can just JB using 2.0.4 because it covers all CHIP versions.

just figured out why you're asking if one is able to determine if an IPAD is 2,4 through its serial number. you are probably trying to purchase an ipad but since the only thing you can see from the box is the serial number, and would be unable to open the box and power it on to check the chip version. if this is the case, as i have said, IRREGARDLESS of what chip version you have, you should be able to JB an IPAD2 now.

Hi my brother has an Ipad 2 (2.1) iOS 5.1.1 which i tried to jailbreak using Absinthe 2.0.2 and 2.0.4 but failed. Previously the Ipad 2 had iOS 4.3.3 which i jailbroke. Yesterday i updated the Ipad 2 using an ipsw restore file to iOS 5.1.1 without wiping the device, so it didnt erase any files, music or apps, just updated to iOS 5.1.1. And now i cant jailbreak it. Why? Should i do a reset of the device wiping everything, jailbreaking it and then restoring my music and settings afterwards.
