Noob here but, How do you set the 777. I can't seem to find that option. Thanks

Thanks. small concern: I want to back up my texts, but i have texts(i want to keep) dating back over a year ago = 100,000+texts. You guys think it'll freeze or crash when i try an attempt a backup "of this size"?

Either use iFunbox or iFile. Go to the folder or file, and change the permission to 777.

The hard way is to use terminal navigating to the file/folder and chmod 777 FILENAME/FOLDER.

You can also perform a manual backup of the file "sms.db" yourself from this directory "/User/Library/SMS/". Backup the Drafts folder if there is a need too.

There're also other files in other directories you may want to look into. A little time spent for searching and reading helps.

Not sure why I've never seen this thread before. Would definately like another way of backing up my contacts. I've had times where when I try and restore a backup I made with iTunes it didn't work.

Both links in the thread are dead tho. Could someone re-up it?
