[HOW TO] Install Cydia on iOS 6 Beta 3 + 4 **Update**

IMPORTANT!!

MOST CYDIA TWEAKS DO NOT WORK ON iOS 6 BETA!! CONTINUE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

For Beta 1 and 2 see here:

Step 1:

Jailbreak and boot tethered your iOS 6 device. The latest iOS 6 redsn0w can be found here
iOS 6 beta 1 tethered jailbreak released! 3GS and A4 devices only! **Update 1** - SiNfuL iPhone
Dev-Team Blog - redsn0w iOS6beta

Step 2:

SSH into your device using your preferred client. (WinSCP, iFunbox, iPutty, Coda, just to name a few)

Default username is: root
Default password is: alpine

Step 3:

Write and execute the following command via SSH:

wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://wyndrepo.googlecode.com/files/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh

Step 4:

Your device should respring then you'll see Cydia on your homescreen! Enjoy

Beta 3 + 4, thanks to PoomSmart:

Step 1:

Jailbreak and boot tethered your iOS 6 device. The latest iOS 6 redsn0w can be found here
iOS 6 beta 1 tethered jailbreak released! 3GS and A4 devices only! **Update 1** - SiNfuL iPhone

Step 3:

Write and execute the following command via SSH:

wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://wyndrepo.googlecode.com/files/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh

Step 4:

Your device should respring then you'll see Cydia on your homescreen!

Step 5:

Download this file

MobileCydia

and place it in /Applications/Cydia.app

But first backup the original MobileCydia file (Just in case)

Step 6:

Once replaced open up the terminal in ssh and write and execute the following command:

cd /Applications/Cydia.app
(Press Enter)
chmod 6775 MobileCydia
(Press Enter)
chown root:wheel MobileCydia
(Press Enter)

Step 7:

Boot your device tethered, open Cydia and it should start loading Enjoy

I've tried and tested on my iPhone 3GS and it worked 100%! I did notice a few times that stock apps disappeared, just boot tethered again and they'll re-appear!

Hi community

I've coded a little application, which allows you to skip step 2-4, because it will automatically install Cydia on the new iOS 6 Beta 1 & 2. You don't have to use WinSCP, or other SSH clients. I've implemented a SSH client withing the application.
Only thing you have to do: Insert your IP address of you iDevice and press the "Install Cydia" Button.
And the best thing is, you can use it for free! And if you don't trust me/the tool and think I'm trying to brick your device, or something, please feel free to contact me or you simply can use wireshark and control the network packages.
You might think, why I'm sharing it with you? Because a big community is the best way to find bugs & learn something.

You can grab it here:

jailbreak-ios6 dot com/auto-cydia-ssh-installer/

Best regards

Lubackss

The tut for beta3, in English, works like a charm

I already had the Cydia installed in the iOS 6 beta 3 (the not working version). Now when I followed the above instruction and tried to reboot the ipod using tethered boot it was simply restarting at the "limera1" stage. I am properly going into DFU mode but no success

However, 2nd time I tried I did not manually reboot my ipod but just respired using activator command. Now the cydia loads like a charm !! But I guess I cannot reboot as the tethered boot will probably fail

Can you really jailbreak the beta3? It doesn't work for me: after having used redsnow 0.9.13dev3, I have no SSH access and I can reboot normally so I suppose it is not jailbroken. If I try to reboot using redsnow it will remain blocked on the pineapple logo :s

What do you mean? Restoring the device should bring it back to 5.1.1, shouldn't it?
