Block Ad Banners In Apps?

Hey guys,

This seems like it should be a pretty simple question, but I'm stumped....

How do you block those ad banners at the bottom or top of apps? I tried Adblocker and iAdKiller, neither of them worked. Is there an app that can do it?

Use SBAdBlockToggle.

I think it is the best. It blocks all those adds in apps you mentioned and if an add is not blocked you hold the SBSettings toggle which will then block it next time you open the app. I would install it from the modyouri repo since it his package and you would get updates for it.

Firewall IP looks pretty cool. I already tried SBAdblock, I found it was very hit or miss.

If Firewall IP works out, you'll get my thanks Kalitrius.

---------- EDIT ----------

Yup, Firewall IP seems to do the trick. Besides, it's just interesting to see how much your apps call out and who they are calling.

Cheers for the help, both of you. 'Til next time.

As I said, SBAdBlockToggle is by far the easiest and most effective ad blocker. It is not ADBlocker or iAdKiller! I have not had a single add that it will not block so I wouldn't call it hit or miss. If an add is not automatically blocked you simply swipe & open SBSettings then hold the ADblock toggle. Your phone resprings and then that address is automatically added to the host file so it will not be displayed again.

I personally find Firewall IP quite annoying since it constantly gives pop-ups of every single thing the app is transmitting data with. This includes the apps normal functioning servers etc. Firewall IP is more useful if you are trying to stop a specific app from connecting to a server etc but is useless overkill if you're JUST trying to block ads.

Just letting you know. You will see over time how annoying it gets.

Ah, ok, I gotcha. Yeah, I'm trying that now, seems pretty nice too. Both programs seem to do the trick. The firewall actually isn't annoying, it's pretty smart; once you tell it what to block and what to let through, it stops bothering you.

So kudos to you both, two excellent suggestions.

Yup it is the best...................Just make sure you use it rite or you wont be able to use the SBSettings more app witout ads. DO NOT USE IN NOTIFICATION CENTER!

The correct way to use SBAdBlock Toggle:

1) Install SBAdBlock Toggle from "Modyouri repo".

2) Respring and Open SBSettings more app and activate the AdBlock Toggle (if it was not already). If the Toggle is already activated in SBSettings Skip to step 2.

3) Activate the SBS drop down window. Find the AdBlock Toggle and "Tap & Hold" on the toggle until your device resprings. (Only way to make it 100% functional, If this is not done it is..............as you said........Hit & miss)

4) Now after your device has resprung unlock, activate SBS drop down window and tap the AdBlock Toggle to turn it on.

Your job is done.....................

Now "every single" app with ads (except apps that use AdMob, These must be deleted manually, through SSH...........NOT iFILE!) will have blocked advertisements

And the SBSettings More app is fully usable with no ads at the bottom.

There ya go..............................

The "Correct" way to use SBAdBlock Toggle form "repo.modyouri.com" repo.

Enjoy!

Yes, I'm an actual LaVeyan Satanist
which means I have no respect for idiots and wastrels

Stupidity—The top of the list for Satanic Sins.
The Cardinal Sin of Satanism. It's too bad that stupidity isn't painful.
Ignorance is one thing, but our society thrives increasingly on stupidity.
It depends on people going along with whatever they are told.
The media promotes a cultivated stupidity as a posture that is not only acceptable but laudable.
Satanists must learn to see through the tricks and cannot afford to be stupid.

Hmmmm. That's weird.

I have always used SBAdBlock Toggle, and had never caused my keyboard to lag.

Did you use the toggle properly?
