Enable Multi-touch Gestures on iPad on 4.3.1/4.3.3

I'm on 4.3.1 and this is how I did it.



- Install iFile from our repo (1.4.2-1 at time of writing).
- Open iFile and navigate to /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist
- Backup the original first before proceeding to the next step.



- Tap com.apple.springboard.plist and select Property List Viewer
- Tap the + at the bottom right corner
- A smaller screen will appear
- Enter

SBUseSystemGestures

in the Name column
- Select

Boolean

in the Type column
- Tap Create



- While still in com.apple.springboard.plist, scroll down and look for SBUseSystemGestures and switch to ON



- Exit iFile
- Respring

* - To disable this option, switch to OFF or delete the entry.

Do take note that you are trying this at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for any mishaps.

The font type I'm using is Prototype.

I have tried for many months, he for some reason thinks jailbreaking is of the devil and is completely against it, even if I tell him what cool features/tweaks he could have. He doesn't care what I do with my devices, but he thinks that a jailbreak is somehow going to hurt his device, or something. I think he's just too stubborn to give into it because we're both pretty headstrong Interestingly enough, he has a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering and a Bachelor's in Computer Science but he still can't see the light

I can't help you on that one coz I didn't execute this with Xcode. Can someone shed some light on this?

I can confirm that this method still works for the iPad 2 4.3.3 with the new official jailbreak 3.0 released by comex on the 6 of july 2011. The gestures all work but the switch does not appear anymore in settings general.

Follow this updated thread by AppleHacker - [How to Guide]Enable multigestures on 4.3+ and battery Percentage![All devices] UPDATE 4.3+ FW! - SiNfuL iPhone.

You'll get the switch after executing the 4 steps.
