Icon5 my laptop is dead, please help

Hi everyone i have a Toshiba Satellite L505D-GS6000, which is out of warranty and i was trying to Factory Restore. half way on the restore it stopped responding so i had to turn it off and when i booted again i tried to restore again but the Restore partition wasnt available no more, basically it wasnt even booting cause it was always asking for a boot disk, the i noticed that nothing on the PC was working or was not recognized cause i tried to install a retail windows and it wasnt booting from the CD, either from the USB, neither from the HDD. then i took it to a friend of mine to see what he could help me with and still the same i think he tried to install xp sp2 cause i found his cd inside the drive.
so what do you guys think i can do here?
is the PC done for good?
is there a chance that i can fix it?
is there a way to fix it?
can anyone provide me with apps, programs, links, names of programs i can use to restore my pc to a usable state at least?
all i want is to be able to use it again

thanks in advanced i hope someone can help me since this is my first time asking for help
have a nice day

Its hard to figure where the problems lies before we get more specific information. I encounter the same issue a while back which turned out to be associated with my HD.

Sounds probably like a broken Harddrive.

You should get a new 2.5" harddrive .The laptop hardware seems to be allright if it is asking for a boot option .

Live CD - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia thats an os that get's lo9aded into the ram and dont need a harddrive. But it is only a simplyfied Os .For testing purposes optimal .

Windows xp live cd iso - free download - (15 files)

Windows 7 live cd - free download - (63 files)

take out the hard drive so it can be eliminated from the equation

now as l8ter suggested try to boot a Linux live cd

then report back your results

I downloaded the manual for you, go over it, and type recovery in the search and follow the instructions.

Download Manual:
Free Cloud Storage - MediaFire

hope this will help

Install a Linux live CD to a USB thumb stick. That should get you by until you can acquire another HD. Or, just install Linux in general.
If this helped you please use the THANKS BUTTON!!!
