Icon5 ipod 4g bluetooth

ok so lately i been doing some bluetooth on phones, computers, etc etc. now i know the internal workings on BT since 2009. now i got at least 5 idevices (4 ipods, 1 iphone) and been wanting to test out some BT stuff.

thats how i found the source for this place btw

anyways i also added ******** source too, and from both, including bigboss, i downloaded at least 4 BT apps. non of them work. splash screen pops up and loads for 1 second then disapears, leaving it not working. so i uninstalled them all, and resinstalled them with BT on, still same problem. i know ipods have limited BT functions compared to phones and PC's. but these apps explained otherwise. anyways heres the specs im testing these apps on:

IPod 4G 5.1.1 with updated cydia sources
jailbroken using absinthe 2.0.4

any support on what am i doing wrong?

K, your question is sort of confusing, so you want to know why the 4 BT apps you've download & installed on your idevices didn't as you had hoped compared to the BT technology & functionality to cell phones or PC's? You need to give us the name of the BT apps your referring to. Don't stop trying out the 4 BT apps you speak of, try them all out & keep experimenting. Or maybe keep experimenting further with the BT apps you already have.

your right, i get this alot. i am confusing lol

the question basically is: why does the bluetooth apps dont work?

is it because of something im not doing (enabling BT apps through SB NC settings, etc etc)?
or is it because the apps are not for 5.1.1?

im still messing around but they still dont work. im pretty sure i didnt enable something. not even my PC can find my ipod

BTstack
airblue
ibluever
bt services
bluetooth file services
ibluetooth

and none of these working. other devices cant find them so i tried these methods:

enabling BT STACK and leaving off native BT in IOS
changing/leaving default device name

what does work? and what problem is this?

K, try my suggestions, search for more different BT apps on cydia & the appstore & try more of them out. You can also open your SBSettings, tap more, scroll down & tap substrate add-ons, disable all the substrate cydia add-ons, reboot or respring. Try the BT appps functionality when all the cydia tweaks are off, if it works, keep turning each tweak 1 by 1 & respringing until you can pinpoint the add-on causing the conflict.

This is all crab IMO . Sorry.

But i always got the feeling that this bluetooth stuff is made to interchange files between other mobile brands like nokias and sorts of.This is an outdated way of transfering files and it is also waaaaay to slow in compare to Wlan .

So why you are going trough the hassle and trying to get this pre sindflood technology to work if you can have wifi ?

Iam not a real help here since i really prefer wlan and even more Usb connections because of the speed advance to previous mentioned methodes of transfering files.

I tryed this once back in time and ended up the same where you been , either the mobile refused the connection or to transfer the whole file or, or, or.

I would use the wifi instead of bluetooth.

And BTW wrong section - thread moved.

Please read the the thread explanation and its purpose and supposed content.

Thanks your always caring staff

my bad i thought i posted in the right place lol

my main purpose was to pair phones to idevices. the phones i have dont support WIFI or networking but it does support bluetooth. i could easily take out SD card and transfer them to PC but takes too long and bluetooth is suppose to do this.

but yea your right, ill stick with networking, bluetooth is a dead doornail anyways.

Like iPhone 4S, new iPad circa comes in 2012 including Bluetooth 4.0 which is better than Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity. Apple announced that, plugging with the Wi-Fi and 4G affect battery life by one hour from 10 to 9 hours.

any bluetooth affects battery life on all devices. it drains them down fast. its best to keep BT off until you actually use it.

Yes King Kaos, I agree with you, All bluetooth effect on battery life but I just told that 4G connectivity is highly effect on battery life. So I am always prefer 3G connection which less effect on battery than 4G.
