Ipod cable on iphone 4s ?

Hi Guys

My car comes with an ipod connector for charging and audio out but when I plug this into my iphone 4s it says the cable is not supported and wont let me use it.

I remember there is a hack to the IOS I need to run that allows my iphone to see the ipod cable and allow me to use it as an charger and audio out.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, hopefully there is a cydia app now that makes the whole thing easier

the problem you face is the car will be trying to charge using 12 volts on the FireWire pins

your phone does not support 12v charging port

you would need to rewire the interface on your car to give 5v on the USB power pins

You got a link? Is it a reputable seller? People make all sorts of claims on eBay to sell stuff. The most important thing is, you don't want to ruin your 4S to save a couple of dollars. I don't know what part of the world you are from, because I didn't look before I hit the quote button, but you can buy an Energizer brand (same Energizer that sells AA and AAA batteries) iPhone 4S car charger from any Wal-Mart (if you are in the 'States) for $15 to $20 or so. No waiting for shipping, lenient return policy, and no risk of starting an automobile fire (from a shoddy DIY project) while speeding down the highway at 70 MPH.

At least this way, you know that you get the voltage and amperage correct and don't damage the 4S battery.
