How many of ya ever owned a modded-out android device n what?

Theres a shit storm of debate between iOS and Android esp w the two devices before us: the s3 and iphone 5
With all the prejudice and animosity going around i have a serious question; how many of yous had actually owned a rooted, hacked, fully modded and functional android phone like the htc one x or s3?
Ya know what, im fuckin sick of this restricted ios shit, im tired of waiting on another real fuckin iphone not just some half assed "s" model that they always milk, and the truth is this new case shit- it does piss me off to know its pretty much gonna be the same fckin looking phone but a half in longer and to top all that off "it may be released in oct."?!? Wtf and what will be uber cool about it the release of ios 6!!!!!??? Woopity fuckin do, like ios6 brings so much to the table that we havent already tasted in cydia?!
ANDROID IS CALLING ME, its open source, 90% OF OUR GDAMN TWEAKS ARE AVAILABLE RIGHT IN THEIR GOOGLE PLAY (and then some we cant even enable!) have you guys ever bothered to explore that?!! im going to pick up an s3 later!

Here take a look and youll find shit similar to ifile, themes out the ass, tweaks mobilesubstrate doesnt even handle, you like podcast- they even have "an app for that", gifs n live wallpapers, installous-like apps (available elsewhere)...you name a popular cydia(legal) tweak and you can most likely find it on their store. And if its not legal, you can find it elsewhere.

I own a sensation 4g but carry ip4 (gave s4g to wife to get rid of her shitty blackberry) I never make the argument of which is better. I do feel that I can objectively give an unbiased opinion. They both have major flaws and major pros. I will say iOS with its great integration and it's "stuff just works". Even though htc and it's "sense" did have integration with its widgets which is awesom. iOS is good in process management some what. But since I rooted flashed Roms, radios, and fw. I do miss the ability of going from one rom to another. I will say it's like driving a car with fresh paint job everyday. So to end my rant of no point I will make the statement every time I here this debate. There is no real answer cause u have big fans of both and both have perks. Just like asking green or red apples some like green some like red and like myself I like them both or the slim few don't like either and they buy winmo or bb

No doubt that Apple always release half of the phone then later add the other half to make a new phone!

As far as going to android is concern I don't think I'll do that just yet.

I know they have pretty much exactly what we have in terms of applications, tweaks and themes but the iOS itself is just a great operating system!

I've played with android but the user interface just doesn't feel right. Maybe if in the future they bring out a proper UI that makes iOS looks like Windows 3.1

then I wouldn't hesitate to change.

Anyway talking about open source you'll be amaze how restricted android is until you root it.

jesus dude you sound proper pissed off, and thats about the design and features of a phone (iphone5) thats not been released yet and nobody knows nothing about! lol

yeah i own a HTC sensation and i rooted it one day. Fuck me! talk about hard work! at any stage it could have bricked my phone, felt like i was programing a nasa computer, and in the end my phone STILL couldnt use wireless ps3 pad so i thought sod this shit, and restored back to factory settings, S-back on or whatever its called.

Yeah android is fully configurable and you can install cracked apps straight away, But the battery life on android phones is shocking, the HTC ONE x is really bad, any app you see on the TV is for the iphone, i like my sensation but i LOVE my iphone. If i use the sensation for a day, i just miss my iphone, not the other way round.

Hey im not bashing you or saying your wrong in any way, its just my own personal opinion is the iphone is amazing. I love the fact its locked down! There will always be a jailbreak, i love the fact apple checks stuff and doesnt let half arsed, buggy, shit quality rubbish into the app store like android does.

For example, If i go into the app store and type in POOL i get 100s of quality pool games, if i type POOL into google play store thing, i get 30 and 25% of them are the same game with different names! they are shit quality, buggy rubbish.

Its all about the apps for me, sure android has quality apps too, but it tells you something when max pain comes out for ios first and android users have to wait 2 months due to "bug fixes" lol

Everyone to thier own and if you fancy a change to android go for it, sinful android are always happy to receive new users. You and your wife should double the membership on there ;-)

From my nokia 5800 to my iphone 3GS (back in 2010) was a huge leap in technology. The iphone4 then made things better.

Since then ive had my iphone4 for 2 years, the longest ive ever owned a phone and theres nothing thats every convinced me to move away from apple.

Soooo then, i take it the S3 is the newsest, top dog and technically the best phone money can buy right now,

so what does it do that would make an iphone user switch sides? Im just curious thats all as from a outsiders point of view it doesnt set my world on fire.

quad core - i have my ps3 for 3d games, i dont need 4 cores to text, play angry birds or facebook

burst camera? i have that app already.

a screen that ripples to unlock? nice but can live without it

battery life? if it lasts for a day with average use its no improvement

what games, apps etc take advantage of quad core and make the iphone look like a
gameboy?

its actually dual core and runs more efficient all around than its quad core counterpard. im still an ipad 3 and iphone 4 owner. whats it make me? experienced and enlightened obviously not a hypocrite

the samsung galaxy S2 was created to kill the iphone 4S but is failed so they quickly made the S3 and spent more on marketing..lol the S3 is the best android phone but the iphone 4S is still more desired by more people..

The only ph0one that ever beats the iphone is the new iphone.. FACT

So im trying to ask civilsed questions and give you MY personal opinions on both decices (what i own) and ask for your opinion on the phones and all you do is a personal attack on me?

lmfao, you come to an iPhone forum, saying how good your s3 is? this is hillarious! Congratulations, you just got yourself a great phone... NOT!
The Galaxy S3 is just like any other Android phone, don't kid yourself that it is any better. I know, I got one!
All the ripples and widgets and ram it has got doesn't make it better than an iPhone 4S. The 4.8" screen makes it akward to hold and a buldge in the pocket and don't say that you get more than a day battery life because you are lying. Unless you don't use it at all!
I get a day with normal use, a few messages, a few emails, a game or 2 for 5 mins or 10 mins each and browsing for an hr or so, some calls. That's it.
Just the size of the screen takes power to no end. All the fancy stuff disabled by me, I don't want my phone to be eating battery like crazy with all the moving wallpapers and I'm not even looking at it! I had one since it came out and now I want to sell it!
I gave it a shot with the intention of selling my 4S once I got used to it and just keeping my iPad but, I found out that I couldn't live without my 4S. The consistency of iOS and the quality apps and games is nothing compared to Android. 2 apps spring to mind, garageband (nothing in google play gets anywhere close to this, or ever will) and iMovie (again, nothing gets closed to this).
I am having trouble selling this phone for anything near what I paid for it as I had to replace the back cover, it has started to crack around the camera. I could've sent it back but then again, be without my new S3 weeks after I bought it. It just says it all, poor cheaply made and shit customer services. Another problem I have is the back of the phone got hot really quick, sometimes while I'm not even doing anything intensive! Maybe this is what is causing the cracks? Dunno? The camera on the S3 is pretty much the same as the 4S but the microphone is dreadful, I have issues with the microphone in calls and the recorded audio or video is tiny and crackling. This is well publisized as a common fault with the S3.
To resume, I thought this was going to be the phone that moved me to the android world ( I've had android phones in the past, not as expensive as this one though). I'm not rich so it would have to be one or the other.
I chose iPhone and in no way I'm changing for anything else as my daily phone. If something comes out better than the S3 I might give it a shot, the experince left by the S3 though is making me be more cautious about researching before buying next time.

You can't be like that. They have record sales but they don't tell you about the returns! When there was a problem with the antennagate on the iPhone 4 they said you could return the phone but nobody did. It just proves that the iPhone 4 survives, even when it has got major design flaws with a crucial hardware issue.

There is no reason to get heated about this topic. Its a controversial thought that will honestly never die.

I had the samsung captivate and it was a great phone. I loved it for the longest time and then i switched over to iphone 4s because i got bored of the apps and i found that the interface was just so choppy while the iphone was smooth. but now with the S3 out i wouldn't mind going back either because at the end of the day they are just a phone with the same capabilities. Additionally android had launched a program called butter who's main goal was to make the OS smooth and they did it...i will wait for the release of the S3 and then decide!

here are some Pros and Cons of my own observation using both

IPHONE -
PROS

excels in syncing capabilities
Great user interface but too bland
Apps run smoothly and look much better
More useful apps
insane amount of apps

CONS

Crapples only major change in the OS was in iOS 5 with notifications bar etc
& so far ios6 looks like its predecessors with minor upgrades and should be called ios5.1
Always releasing a slightly updated version of current phone
phone is NOTHING UNLESS JAILBROKEN

ANDROID -

PROS

excels in customization even more than a jailbroken iphone
Now JellyBean runs smoother (jellybean only in 2 devices so far)
Syncs amazingly contacts always backed up with gmail etc
Some cool apps
Whole phone is integrated so nicely with each app

CONS

some of the apps are just horrible copies
ICS is laggy
they release so many phones that their previous ones dont receive updates even thought you just bought it so you will be outdated really quickly (apple usually keeps the 2 latest products supported with updates)

There is nothing wrong with exploring new OS. No hate for android or iphone but its all your opinion. I like both and if i had money i would buy a S3 as well and switch when i get bored because they use the same sim size for AT&T..

as of now I Love My iPhone but who knows what trw will bring
