The New iPhone Will Debut On September 12th (all but confirmed by Apple)

September 12th Apple Event

Caleb Hicks said it best:

This is as much confirmation as anyone needs that the September 12 Apple event is real.

And what confirmation was that? Jim Dalrymple of course:

The Loop

iMore has learned that Apple is planning to debut the new iPhone at a special event on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, with the release date to follow 9 days later on Friday, September 21.

Yep.

Jim linked over to the iMore site, and the post that claims alongside the Wall Street Journal that the Apple event is in the books. Jim’s confirmation along with the post by John Paczkowski over at Wall Street Journal’s AllThingsD just makes it feel as sure as Apple had announced it themselves.

Rumor Blogs

The iMore blog has been pretty solid lately. Even without Jim’s confirmation the rumor feels right. Apple is likely to stick to the September announcement date tying the iPhone with the iPod event. Historically the iPod event has been the first or second week of September every year. The iPhone has been available to purchase 7–10 days following the announcement with the exception of the first iPhone.

What’s coming

The confirmation by Jim was possibly only referring to the event. It’s not clear that Jim or John knows that Apple will be introducing a new iPad lineup on that date.

Either way, the only thing as exciting as knowing that an Apple event is on it’s way is the event itself.

I'll get it only when jailbroken. Otherwise I'm happy with my 4S.

My birthday is September 15th. I know what I am buying myself. As for the jailbreak, I think I can last a few months with out. I'll still have my iPhone4 and iPad3 to play with Cydia on. When the Jailbreak does come, it will be that much better. Even without a jailbreak, it still going to be a good phone. I could care less about themes and widgets in the mean time. The AppStore is sufficient enough. I have an iOS Dev account so I can alway resign apps if I want to try something before buying.

Highly doubt it. I have tmobile too and use a blackberry as a main phone and an itouch to play around with. I'm probably going to switch to sprint or at&t for it.

Can i be the first to ask...

Has the iphone 5 been jailbroken yet? hahaha

Well, my iphone4 is still a brilliant phone, ios6 doesnt excite me at the moment and a better processor, new camera, more storage... its going to have to be something special for me to upgrade straight away. Il prob wait until prices come down a lot before i get one.

I recommend AT&T not because it's what i have but because i have had sprint, verizon, t-mobile and none where satisfied my needs in coverage, customer service and lot's more, but you choice at the end....

It actually depends where you live tbh. You should ask your neighbors or friends in your town/city to fill your needs.

I used to have 1 bar in my own house in my own town until we got a mini cell tower (3g microcell) from AT&T. Additionally, when I'm at my college town I get full 5 bars.
