iPhone 5 Design Confirmed?

frankly I think Apple is running out of ideas when it comes to the overall shape of the new device I also think the new I-Phone will be a deciding factor for a large segment of smart phone users whether to stick with Apple or migrate to the competition

I think this is silly, how many shapes can an IPhone be? or for that matter any phone, I think the none uniform shaped phones (like blackberry) look cheap and tacky, a phone is a phone, basically you have a square shape to choose from !

What I most like about iPhone is not the device itself but the fact that Apple supports with iOS's upgrades their devices for years. This doesn't happen with either HTC or Samsung, you have to use upgrades from xda-devs.

I have an iPhone 4 for the last two years and been very happy with it and the only downside of it is the small screen. I haven't bought the GS3 (yet), as patiently waiting for iPhone 5's release. If its design is like the pics on the net, with just higher screen to reach 4" and not wider as well then I'll switch to GS3!

BTW, I don't care about a 16:9 on a 4" screen phone, I won't use it to watch movies!

The only way Apple can really impress anyone since they are always late to the game is to add an external memory slot like everyone else. Apple has always released old technology with a fancy icon and called it "new". I guess it is new to people who are stuck inside the box and don't read about all the countless features android phones offer. Take for example, the ability to block calls from someone. Android has a blacklist feature that will send their calls straight to voicemail. Apple, not at all without a 3rd party app.

So you spend hundreds of dollars on a phone, only to have to pay more money (and jailbreak it) to get it to do what a phone at less than half it's price does naturally. As for their upgrades..., they only release those when shit don't work right, or at best, to implement a jailbreak feature and call it "new"

Ok, I jumped the gun, call me crazy... But I am convinced that the shape rumored out there will be the next iPhone. So I ordered the Galaxy S3. I'm gonna wait till the 5S or 6 comes out and see what happens with the next generation. iPhone 5 skipped.

I also did it to get a hands on experience on Android and the S3 to build my own opinion. I can always go back to the iPhone if I don't like it.

Good for you, I did it when the 4s was introduced and bought the SGS2 and after 2 weeks got rid of it and bought the 4s and will never go with an android OS again, it all sucks


I think if apple puts out a mini iPad why not consider 2 iphones so to make everyone's needs pick what they like

I never liked Samsung's cellphones design. I love their TV sets but not the phones. I'm not sold on the round design of the GS3 (and other Samsung models). That's why HTC is the winner in my book if (when) I (have to) move to Android.
As I've been saying over and over again, non-jb'able iPhone is useless to me. As someone mentioned above there are features unlockable only on a jailbroken phone (like call blocking and many others). This is absolutely ridiculous for a phone with very "nice" pricetag. I am absolutely positive Apple will lose good chunk of the pie if they lock down their phone's at 100%.
