aTV Flash 4.5 (For Apple TV 1 ONLY)
aTV Flash 4.5 for the 1st generation (silver) Apple TV is now available. Version 4.5 includes support for OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) as well as a handful of general improvements and fixes. We're also still working on a number of additional features for the 1st gen models and plan to have additional updates available soon.
What's new in 4.5?
Added support for OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
Added active memory management (to keep things running smoothly)
Added ability to copy files between playlists
Resolved Smart Installer bug
Other miscellaneous improvements and fixes
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1st gen Apple TV
Mac: OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or later
PC: Windows XP or later
USB Flash Drive – 256MB or larger

same question as i have windows 7 only.also quick question if somebody could send me the file of the usb stick (the installer) i have transmac and i could put the file on my mac formatted usb stick and do it that way ? just a shot in the dark

what do U wanna know?.
I've installed this week a perfect running Lion osx in my windows 7 on vmware workstation in less than an hour.
Really simple and can do all of both systems.Having this for several years and is an must have for me.

i have the 4.5 .dmg file but with win 7 i can not open it to put on my mac formatted usb stick.is there any chance of a windows version or any way i can get the file to put on my usb stick to put firecore on my atv1 i have used a patchstick before (got one with the atv1 to flash it) but it is old version .

You can convert the dmg file to iso.The iso can be extracted in windows with winrar ect.
Don't know if it works but you can put it on your stick

Like freestyle already said, just install Mac in a vm. Go to the PC/Mac apps section and find Mountain Lion. Download it. Find either VMWare workstation or parallels workstation. Download that. Install parallels or VMware on your pc. Use that program to install a virtual Mac with the mountain lion installer you downloaded. From there you with have a Mac is that you can run from inside your windows pc. Then you can use all sorta of Mac apps.
Just google install Mac OS in VMware and find a YouTube video. I am sure there are probably hundreds of videos that will walk you right through it.

Download a pre installed vmware image of lion or mountain lion.
You can run these images with the free vmware player.
Is really easy to get it working.
If you need some help just give a pm.
I'll bet you gonna be very happy with it

Hey, tried various versions of vmware on my windows 7 laptop to install mac os x lion 10.7 and just keep getting errors over and over again no matter what. Does no one have a windows version of atv flash 4.5. thanks

 Thats more understandable, I guess.
The problem with this software is that the ATV1 is becoming outdated. All the software crackers are focused on new devices and that software. If the Windows version of this has not been posted yet, its not going to happen. At least not any time in the near future.
You could, however, follow the other members advice and download VMWare and run OSX in it (both VMWare and OSX are posted in the PC|MAC Apps Section). The process is not hard and if you Google "Run OSX in VMWare", I think there will be some helpful pages found.

seems quite difficult to run vmware and host a virtual os, so I looked around the site and found a copy of os x snow leopard, seems an easier way to get things working.
