Airport extreme router con to windows xp
Trying to connect wifi from router to pc n the first time i connected it, i was covered under apple care n now im on my own. Been messing for 6 days now n im spent ! Any help would b greatly aprreciated.

you need the airport utility to configure it
AirPort Utility 5.6.1 for Windows
App Store - AirPort Utility for iPhone
if you cant connect on wifi ... use an ethernet cable for configuration 
once it is set up you should have no worries...

I do have both of those apps n im able to connect fine with iphones n ipads but the pc just wont connect thru wifi but i will give it a try to configure when connected with ethernet

if you are connecting with other devices then it is not the config...
there must be a problem on the pc

As what I know about airport extreme it's using dual band 1st is 2.4 Ghz & also 5 Ghz, you need to turn on the 2.4 Ghz in the configuration in order for your old pc to connect while iphone, mac etc will connect to 5GHz band...I think that's only your problem CHEERS!!!

When I started this thread I picked the very last Option in the threads which ws everything else n felt that was the best one to pick . If u notice before buy sell trade it says evthgelse . That's all I got for now.HOLLAR!

Just open airport preferences and put security to WEP instead of the default WPA and your xp should connect fine
It's not the ghz bandwidth it's the security protocol that the xp cannot negotiate
