SkyRa1n 3.0 and SkyRa1n SD 1.0!
Well as many of you may be aware, SkyRa1n is a siri port that I have created for all 5.1.x devices.
SkyRa1n was created at a time when there were nearly no options, now the is Ac1d, Spazz, etc.
Regradless I continue to update SkyRa1n for speed improvements so now I have actually created not one, but TWO completely different versions of SkyRa1n.
First off what is new in SkyRa1n 3.0:
Recently apple pushed a new layer of security that caused many servers to experience issues or shut down. This new version of SkyRa1n has removed that protocol from Siri and should fix a lot of bugs that servers have been encountering on prior versions of SkyRa1n or other ports.
Next I have pushed a new version of SkyRa1n called "SkyRa1n SD"
This version is an optimized Siri for SD devices (such as the 3GS, ipod 3rd Gen, iPad 1, and iPad 2.)
In this version of skyRa1n all images have been SD optimized so things load up much faster, this will very easy to notice on the lower RAM devices!

Thank you! I am downloading this now and will report back.
Edit:
Got an overwrite error (probably should have uninstalled 2.1 before installing SD version but I let Cydia do the switch for me). However, the download and install finished fine.
Now rebooting...
...Phone is stuck in reboot loop...
Going to disable mobile substrate and manually uninstall SkyRa!n and then try to reinstall fresh...
...Still in a loop... Going to have to SSH from DFU mode...
TIP: Do not install this without fully uninstalling your current version of SkyRa1n
...Couldn't fix it so had to restore... Good times...
At some point I will be able to give feedback on how much faster it runs/less space it takes up on 3GS...
....many hours later...
Was able to test the SD version and it saves 20MB of RAM! Thanks so much!

I kept SD Dictation up for other Siri ports such as Ac1d, Spazz, Spite, Spire, Siriport, etc.
I thought that would only be fair to the others however yes SD dictation is included!

I found a flaw with the SD version install. It deactivates the vsassetd.plist which is needed in order to regenerate the assistant.plist file in your preferences folder if you change to a new proxy.

The vassetd.plist is not needed at all to regenerate the plist.
It is a voice control daemon that comes back once uninstalled.
Every version of SkyRa1n has disabled this with no flaws at all.
The injector and hooks are the only things that are needed to change the server!

Well I won't argue with that because if you are smart enough to make a port I'm sure you know what you are talking about. But for some reason when I disabled it and deleted my assistant.plist file, when I rebooted it wouldn't come back until I enabled it again. Do you know why that might happen?

is it ok to install sky rain SD for an iphone 4? My iphone 4 lags because of the low memory (i tend to have Facebook and instagram always opened)
whats the biggest difference between the SD and regular version? The images (what images?)

Installing the SD version will not help you
It only applies to SD devices
I have converted all images to be SD so the port loads quicker and the iOS uses less resources converting the images

Plus if you have a good proxy Siri should work great on a iphone 4 with skyra1n 3.0, I'm not having any issues, and Siri responds almost if not faster then the Siri on my wifes iphone 4s

Hi,
Just installed SkyRa1n SD onto my 3GS Iphone, used Ifunbox to install the DEB file. Rebooted, then installed the control panel and cert from Word Jelly.
All seemed to go ok, now error messages or anything, and device rebooted fine.
However, I cannot see any icon for the application or any reference to it in the Settings area.
Have I missed something ???
Any advice would be welcome
