I think apple is already very well prepared for this, ever since they came out with the 5.1 update and my 4S now displays that I'm on "4G" instead of "3G" even though my speed is the same as it was before.

Somehow I think this will make people want to get their hands on the new iphone even more now just in case so this actually works in Apple's favor. Publicity about this 4g LTE, whether negative or positive will work in their favor. I am sure they are prepared for it regardless. Tomorrow is the big day.

Kinda like when the first iPhone ( and 3G) did not have SMS. It was very controversial.

Here is the funny thing about that.
You can take a SIM out of a Galaxy and use it in the 4S or i4 (and everything will work).
You CANT take the SIM out of the 4S or i4 and use it in the Galaxy (internet doesnt work), cant access the Play store (obviously). And 4G doesnt even show up on the phone.
I wonder where they draw the line......Maybe its the LTE part where the line is drawn.

Isn't that because the hardware didn't support 4G? Just because they changed the icon doesn't mean you actually have 4G?
Anyways, has anyone sued for 3G? Or Edge networks? Afaik they haven't. So why is it that they get all anal about LTE? It's not like Samsung or HTC actually provide 4G the networks do. So you can't really own it right?

You can patent something like the way the A single chip is used for LTE, 3G, wifi and Bluetooth. Or the way it is all achieved at a certain power level. Who knows.

You build the car
I build the road
You sell the car
I charge tool fee
Let people decide which car to buy and which road to drive
What pattern ???
Does Honda/Toyota pay HENRY FORD for his invention on automobile??

Having a patent doesn't mean the other guy can't use what you created they just have to pay to use it. Samsung could have easily paid the fee and still sold the units at the same cost and made a profit. It's not always about greed as some of you seem to always be blaming Apple for these days. If anyone was greedy it was Samsung and if some would stop frothing at the mouth every time Apple is mentioned they would see this.
Notice when Sony, HP or the same Samsung sues a small independent company and drives them out of business no one says a thing. Where are your pitch forks then Angry Mob?

Sounds like you've drank far too much of the Crapple Kool-aid. First off, what exactly did Crapple invent; you calling the following invention or stolen ideas?
As can be seen above, they invented nothing, they simply merged ideas from several places into a single yet much more advanced technology. Now they're are trying to stop the competition from doing to them as they did to several past phone manufacturers. They're all out of inovative ideas

Henry ford didn't invent the automobile , he came up with the process of mass production which every car manufacturer uses today.

I worked as hardware engineer, and time to time we bough other products / tear them off / reversed engineer and learn from it/ make it our own product
The hard part is firmware, rest of the hardware are available in the market and if we smart enough not to copycat %100, there are no traces

Does your collective go by Angry Mob or should I call you Legion? How about you throw a fact in there somewhere next time instead. Independent thought might be a new concept for the Angry Mob but it's still feasible and I have faith some of you can actually do it. I must still be on that same batch of kool-aid as the judge and jury in that little case Samsung lost.
No one who defends a patent they own isn't necessarily trying to stop competition. The competition can simply pay for permission to use the patented item in question. Samsung obviously did not do such. It's not like they didn't know and if they didn't the guy responsible for knowing should be fired.
Licensing - it's a term. Look it up.
Obviously the "crapple kool-aid" was good enough when you bought that iPhone. You should have gotten a Samsung instead after all the clones have been out there for a while.

So you're saying the following generic ideas are reasonable to patent in the first place: - Rectangular shape
- Curved corners on a phone
- Icon arranged in a grid menu
.
.
. My good old notepad was rectangular aswell, my SGH-E250 had round corners aswell as icons arranged in a grid menu....get it yet or still got your head in the sand?

Just cause I love my freed iPhone, doesn't automatically mean I agree with all the actions of the manufacturer. Just cause Hitler got into power and turned Germany from the war ravaged and heavily indebted country it was, into a world power of his times, doesn't mean everything he did was correct.

That image has already made the rounds and enough has been said all of which you can find on google. Look specifically for the court cases where Apple was/is being sued for patent infringement on any item in that picture.
I don't care how generic the idea is. If you spent good money on R&D and the patent office in it's infinite wisdom/supreme patent-giving power chose to give you a patent on it. Then by all means defend whats yours.
YES it it reasonable to patent your variation of said square. After all no one else had the mental capacity to do it like such and patent it otherwise instead of getting a patent you would be speaking to a lawyer to negotiate a license for that square. I don't expect that concept to sink through to the Angry Mob mentality.
You have an iPhone and you don't agree with everything the company does. I have an opinion on the patent discussion, automatically I'm drunk on the apple kool-aid and worship to an effigy of Steve. See how that works? And the reference to Hitler, wow I haven't seen anyone use that analogy with Apple since yesterday. Must be another one of your group.

Anyone notice those internal parts of the iPhone that are made by Samsung?
Apple is clearly showing they can't do it on their own.

Apple let's the cheapest bid build the parts for them. Foxconn, Samsung, sharp and Pretty much anywhere sweat shops are legal.

Sorry but the phones that Samsung got sued over do not look anything like a damn iPhone. They maybe similar but certainly not a copy.
Maybe the should have sued the other Chinese companies that actually do make iPhone looking clones. It was nothing but a dick move on there part because they don't want the competition.
