It's a first time I'm seeing new CEO doing presentation and I have to say that he is nowhere near presentation skill level of Jobs, Tim is doing it quite boring...
If Apple had released this instead of the 4S last year, sales would have been even greater because this time last year all everyone wanted was a bigger screen and longer battery life to stay up with the other 4in displays out there. It seems everyone is pretty much over it now. I'm guessing the want now is 4G LTE, which does have my interest.
I may buy one to have in reserve while they still offer more than a 8GB model and camp it out until a jailbreak comes along.

ip5 is slick, but really no good for me until jailbreak out..... ive just put this sim in by jailbroken ip4 as there was loads of features etc that made it more valuable for my line of work than what my ip5 has.... pity because its slick... the phone will really be here if jailbreak arrives... i was expecting to see more features as per cydia... but nothing really materialised and as when i got the ipad 1 when it came out... i didnt use for a month or so until jailbreak out...any ways its mynthoughts anyway

I now own an iphone5. I got it early so it would have ios6.0 on it. Thats what the new jailbreak will be for, so im ready for when redsnow lands.
Today at work i sent lots of texts, went online, surfed the net. Nothing i did on my iphone4 actually used the jailbreak.
On my iphone4 i get 3g speeds of around 2.3mbs, websites take a few seconds to load
On my iphone5, i get around 5 - 8 mbs and the highest at my mates was 13mbs
Thats on 3G!! websites load virtually instantly. the speed is amazing compared to the 4. Bigger screen so in landscape mode watching videos and looking at websites (like here) is much nicer, quicker and i dont have to zoom in as much to read the tiny writing like on my iphone4.
Iv gone from 34gb to 64gb so i have shit loads more storage and i have siri which is a laugh.
When people start writing about what features "crapple" should have included, removable batteries, jailbreak options, mem cards you end up turning the iphone into an android.
The thing that makes the iphone so great is the fact its an iphone, with IOS.
It works, i dont need 200000 fancy new features every 4 seconds like android, and then stop working because android is still buggy crap.
I speak from experience as i also own an S3, a month ago it lost the ability to "copy" text, my only option was a factory reset. Last week apps stopped downloading so after faffiing about i had to reset caches and other shite just to get the phone working.
until you have experienced the arseness of the android world, you have no idea how beautiful and simple IOS actually is.
Of course, without a jailbreak the iphone5 feels like its missing its right arm, but even with 1 arm, its still better than android and kicks ass with its remaing limbs.
I can guarantee, once the IOS 6.xx and iphone5 jailbreak comes along and a new method to downgrade, everyone will be saying what an amazing device this is!

using iphone 4. jailbroken thats done me well so far.
it all depends on your personal preference, the s3 is a fantastic phone, its just not got the vast app store support the iphone has, AAA games are released months after the iphone, gta3 and max payne for example and things like tomtom took years before they appeared on android and its a very poor version compared to IOS.
Plus (for example) tomtom is only supported on low end android phones officially, so to get it for s3 you have to download a cracked copy from the web.
Its all about choice really, i do like my s3, but all my friends have iphone and we imessage each other. mem cards and removable battery is great, brilliant, but the play store is not as good as app store. It has the usual apps n games iphone has, but no real android exclusives or must have games you cant get anywhere else.
The s3 is great for emulation, you can plug in a usb joypad, a hard drive and even a keyboard via usb slot so its much more technical and the things you can do with it are vast.
if i use my s3 for a day, i miss my iphone. i miss the ios apps and the ease of use. Android just doesnt feel as "simple to use" as ios
as the iphone5 cannot be jailbroken yet, the s3 has the advantage. Without a jailbreak, your really missing out on a whole new world. Androids are allready "jailbroken" so you can do as you please with one
Personal preference at the end of the day, just have a try and see what you think.
As well got Iphone 5 from AT&T US(unlocked it ofc saving nice $$$) 2 days after it was realesed(express shipping) there.
Now im using Zeusmos and i rly dont care about JB ....
Rly... any official app i get for free...plus i was never a fan of trashing ram with 1000useless Cydia 3rd party BS...
Thing im missing really is FEnchancer and 2 or three small tweaks like select all mails and make them all read or delete all mails in any given mailbox u know lilt shits...
Generally Im happy with my choice and i had S3 before I changed to I5...

I wudnt be fair w/o considering some cons as well:
For example ofc apple cannot know u re hitting up records on gamecentre for games u never actually bought off them... so it is getting replaced with SANDBOXED version of GAMECENTRE...
Thanks to that some normally bought games will stop working (the ones that taking their gameplay directly from the web i.e 100heroz etc...u know what i mean...)
But for now its just this title im seeing this happening.
Ofc i cud prolly just delete original 100heroz i paid for and intall zeusmod sandboxed version and play same way....
but still worth mentioning.
