Edit APNs/Get MMS and data working on straight talk without a jailbreak... - Page 5

Hey everyone,
I just followed the instructions provided for my 3GS and now I can indeed send/rec pics via text but have no internet capabilities. I am using straightalk on an AT&T phone and do not want to jailbreak. Any ideas why MMS works and internet does not???

Are you on 5 or below?you have to find what apns and such that they use.

@josh, you must have missed the APN that controls your data, double check you settings. Also you can try a reboot.

tried rebooting still no internet. The settings seem right as well. I opened 'SystemConfiguration/prefrences.plist' I have in there line 32-33 apn and phone, 78-79 apn and acds.voicemail, 124-125 apn and broadband, and 170-171 apn and att.mvno

I have no idea what the problem is??? Internet is the only thing I am lacking I appreciate anyones help to get this thing finished.

I am using an Iphone 4 on straight talk with IOS 6.0 I changed the strings below the apn to attv.mvno and I got the MMS to work. However, when I restart my phone, the settings go back blank and MMS does not work anymore. This didn't use to happen before on IOS 5.1 There, I changed the strings and everything worked out fine, including MMS,

Any ideas? Any help or tips you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same issue.. any way to revert back to 5.1.1?

I am having the same problem on my iPHONE 4, I can't get my data (3G) to work all the time. This method worked just fine until iOS 6 ... now, I have to do these steps many times every day coz every time it will work for a while and then just stop !! it looks like there is some kind of event that changes the settings.

@Josh. You're settings are completely 100% wrong. They are the stock settings.

For everyone out there. DO NOT upgrade to iOS6, If you do, you WILL be stuck without MMS unless you have an unlocked phone... There is no way to edit the setting otherwyou are zise. Now as far as data goes, you can use the unlock it profile, but otherwise.... done.....

WHY IN THE HELL MUST PEOPLE UPDATE???? damn,,,, I posted all over this forum not to update to 6...... why can people not follow directions.

Hey, I have recently came across a method for doing unlocks, I can guarantee an unlock in as little as 1 hour. let me know if you want an unlock, with an unlock you can get your MMS back.

This is a great thread! Thank you for all of your help.

I did the ibackupbot tutorial and was able to get MMS working on a restart of the iphone. But after a few hours (maybe even less than ONE hour) MMS wont send or receive. I've tried restoring to it again. I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4. I'm on h2O wireless and because it uses AT&T 's network I think that it defaults to the wrong APN. Please help me get this fixed, I have all of the MMS apn info for H2O. Please help me get this, i'm also on iOS6 and my phone once again is Factory Unlocked.
