Downgrading iPhone 4S from iOS 6 to 5.1.1 [ IF POSSIBLE ]

Okay, I’m going to take my chances and post about downgrading my iPhone 4S, because I’m desperate to do so. lol

Now, I accidentally updated my phone to iOS 6, I always wait for a jailbreak to come out before I update. So, I’m wondering if there is any possible way to downgrade my iPhone 4S & I believe I don’t have my SHSH blobs saved

I been trying to downgrade my iPhone for about 6 hours now,: killmyself: & I didn't know what else to do, so I came here.

if you don't have you're shsh the downgrade is not possible sorry men you are just be patient fore a untethered jailbreak, actually the tethered jailbreak is only fore the A4 device.

It's actually a dumb story, lol. I gave my brother my iPhone to download music for me, & he's been waiting for iOS 6 to come out [ He has an iPod 4G ] , so he thought it would be nice of him to update my iPhone without me knowing

OH , I mean I know the basics on how to jailbreak & stuff but when it comes to the SHSH blobs & all that other crap , I get confused . lol , I mean I guess I'll just sell my iPhone .

Honestly, I'm sick and tired of threads from guys claiming to have "accidentally upgraded". This is horse shit... It's almost impossible to accidentally upgrade. There are several clicks that need to be made in order to upgrade.

Why not just man up and say that you've upgraded and regret it and would like to know if there is a way to downgrade. Each and every time a new update is released we get a dozen clowns saying the same exact crap....

lol exactly no one "accidentally" upgrades. What happens is, they get so "pumped" that they can't help themselves and upgrade on an impulse to try out apple's latest and greatest, without first investigating thoroughly the long term implications

Honest answer, really annoying when this happens, but keeps tabs on sites like greenpoison or pod2g blog , and wait, it won't be long before your iOS update is jailbroken and then .... It's like a whole new phone again.

A few months back we released a redsn0w feature that lets you downgrade A5+ devices from 5.1.1 to anything lower (if you had saved blobs). *Unfortunately once the 5.1.1 window closes, redsn0w’s 5.x downgrade feature will no longer work. *Most A5+ users will not be able to downgrade. *So if you’re an A5+ owner up at 6.0 when the 5.1.1 window closes, you’ll be stuck there without a jailbreak for now.

We’re happy to report there are some serious deficiences in the 5.x restore process that are permanently exploitable. They’ll never be fixable by Apple because they’re all self-contained in the 5.x IPSWs. *Here’s the breakdown:

A4 devices and 3GS will always be downgradable (and jailbreakable) with saved blobs due to limera1n. *The tethered iOS6 jailbreak for those devices (and untethered for old-bootrom 3GS) will be out when Cydia and other important pieces are all working properly.
iPad2 owners who have both 4.x blobs and 5.x blobs will always be able to downgrade to those versions, even once you come up to 6.0 and the 5.1.1 window closes (don’t do that yet though!). *You need both 4.x and 5.x blobs to qualify for the 5.x downgrade even though you only wish to downgrade to 5.x (you need only your 4.x blobs to downgrade to 4.x)
iPad3, i4S (and iPad2 owners who don’t satisfy #2) will always be able to RE-restore the current 5.x OS that’s already on their device. *So if you’re at 5.1.1 when the window closes (and you’ve saved your blobs), you’ll always be able to RE-restore to 5.1.1 again. *This makes the 5.1.1 jailbreak a lot less fragile — you don’t have to worry about messing up your install with funky extensions or getting into a boot loop, because you can always RE-restore from 5.1.1 to 5.1.1 again (or from 5.0.1 to 5.0.1 again, etc). *But once you fall off the 5.x train by restoring to 6.x, you’ll be stuck there until the next jailbreak.
Please be aware that RE-restores and iPad2 downgraded devices will always end up with the latest baseband (not the one that came with that firmware). *So don’t go near any of this if your unlock depends on the baseband version.

All of these features will be released shortly in a new version of redsn0w. *In the meantime please be sure you have your 5.1.1 blobs and stay at 5.1.1. *Happy iOS6 day!

Mine froze and when it restarted it was stuck in the recovery loop.
Tried everything from tinyumbrella to fix recovery and so on.
I tried to restore to 5.1.1 which I was on and I just kept getting error after error with itunes.
Since I couldn't get into DFU mode at all I was going nuts and after a full day of trying
I needed my phone back working so I had no choice but to go to ios6 stock.

I never realised how much I hated stock and for future references I will be selecting
do not download on itunes and don't show this message again so I won't be in this situation.

Iphones are nothing without jailbreaking.
Lesson learned now all I have to do is wait for even a tethered jb

Don't feel bad. I just bought a used 4S and asked the guy beforehand what OS was on the phone, he said he'd just updated to iOS6. He went on to tell me that he'd jailbroke the phone before, so I was thinking for sure Cydia would have the SHSH and I could retrieve that and downgrade.

Well... ya know what...? Cydia did have the SHSH saved and now I have it saved on my computer. That's where the good news ends though, cause no matter how many times I pray to the Apple God's, I can't downgrade this phone no matter how many SHSH blobs I have. Had I did a bit of reading before I bought the phone, then I'd know what I was getting into... reading... something very useful and important when you're not absolutely, positively 110% positive that you know exactly WTF you're talking about.

I'm somewhat happy to report that I've sold my iPhone 4S running iOS6 and I'm back on my iPhone 4 running 5.1.1 and jailbroken. Damn it boys... I didn't realize how much I missed that jailbreak shit... Once an untethered jailbreak is released for iOS 6, then maybe I'll go get a 5 or maybe I'll just wait til the next big disappointment is released (maybe next year).

I do miss Siri... that silly little bitch.
