Wow.. Been in and they looked around for something to blame it on, told us to turn wifi off.. Dah , turn brightnes down, already done as well .. And he tried giving me some bill shit about" don't let your phone battery die when it hits one or 2 percent turn it off by slide to turn off and that will fix it"...
And if that doesn't fix it they will have to send it away for repairs.. WTF could need repairing on a 5 day old iPhone?
She only used it for calls and a bit of net surfing no games at all I could understand if she played a GPU intensive game but she said she didn't.
We will see what happens over the next few days.

Hey guys, try this:
  1. Perform a clean restore via uTunes
  2. Setup as new iDevice
  3. Go to Settings > Location Services (think this has been moved to privacy) > System Services
  4. Disable "Diagnostics & Usage", "Location-Based iAds", "Setting Time Zone" and "Traffic".
  5. Fully charge the iDevice and report back on how it's performing

My problem seemed to be poor LTE reception I switched it off and it's double the battery life already and 3G loads lightning fast still so I'm not too worried about using it and if I really need LTE I'll turn it on. Also I turned the battery % indicator off as well

Restore contacts from your Email address (yahoo, gmail, etc).

Just make sure u back them up to that email, prior to restoring. After restore, just import from email to ur phone. EASY!!!!!!!!!!

I think this has to do with the fact that most of our old phones were Jailbroken, and some of the settings and whatnot for jailbroken apps get backed up in the iCloud or iTunes backups. After you choose to restore from a backup of your old phone, these jailbroken items now serve no purpose because the iPhone 5 isn't jailbroken yet, but things with launchdaemons and recurring daemons try to run themselves and are constantly killed by the un-jailbroken iOS. Starting and killing processes eats up a lot of battery life.

Just my 2 cents, but it makes sense in my head. Please feel free to educate me if I'm wrong.

I've noticed a pattern with mine....

Standby time generally is acting the same, most basic apps are acting the same...

But when I added in my email my battery life went to hell in a handbasket... down like 1% per minute...

Reason?

I use webmail and have multiple devices so I leave a copy on the server, every time I deleted an email it immediatly downloaded another one, basically blasting my wifi constantly (I had over 1000 messages on the server thanks to spammers... -_-)

I turned my email to "Manual" and my battery life seems to have returned to normal.

Thought I'd share in case somone else was having the same issue.
