How to get your 5.1.1 SHSH blob post iOS 6!!!
After hours of searching, I have stumbled upon a way to get your SHSH blobs locally without the use of Cydia servers. Download and open redsnow. Go to Extras > SHSH blobs > fetch. When this has completed there will be a plist file added to your redsnow folder. This plist file has all current blobs available on your device. Now you can choose to verify this file or just continue to the next step. Download your current firmware if you have not done so already and select the stitch option from the SHSH blobs of redsnow. Now select your firmware and then the local plist file from your redsnow folder. Let the magic happen and you have a signed version of you ios firmware. I have only tested this with ios 5.1.1. I am not sure on any lower firmware.

wrong redsnow has grabbed from your device, cydia has my device still in the tss queue. It has no blob data. If you read what redsnow does, it fetches from your device and uploads it to cydia. That is how cydia gets your blob. Not the other way around.

Yes, but this method of fetching blobs directly off the device only works for bootrom exploit devices like the iphone 4/below and only the blobs of the current firmware installed on the device are attainable. You can't get any other blobs this way.
And your wrong as Cydia normally, automatically ques to store your blobs once you jailbreak and open Cydia as well as has the option to manually add/send them (like I assume you did). It seems that this is to benefit Saurik as well as jail breakers since he wants you to be able to continue to JB so you buy stuff from his Cydia store..
The other poster assumed you were fetching blobs from Cydia.

I have an iphone 4 that i just got from a friend after the iphone 5 came out. it was never jailbroken and therefor i never had the blobs saved. i downloaded the current firmware for my iphone and used the plist file to sign it. then i restored my iphone with the signed firmware. This trick is only good if you have 5.1.1 on your device and havent saved your blobs anywhere

Yes, I remember in early April, when the tickets became important in 5.1. I saved the new shsh/ticket combo also.

redsnow saves both in the plist. if you have a plist editor check it out. im not going to argue with anyone over this since it worked for me and i had no blobs saved at all (except the 6.0 blobs) I have since restored my iphone to 5.1.1 and i am satisfied with the results. anyone willing to corroborate my findings please do so and help me out. I was only trying to help those who are new to jailbreaking and dont want ios 6.

Woah guy. No ones arguing. I'm just pointing out that fetching the blobs/tickets directly off of a device ONLY works on devices with bootrom exploits, which means a4 devices and below. If you have a newer device, ie the 4S (which MOST people do who have not yet saved their shsh blobs), ......then what you posted simply will not work.
Will this work for an iP4? = YES
Will this work for a 4S? = NO

So basically, if a device was jailbroken 2 years ago on 4.x and you never happend to save any blobs or never happend to JB it again on 5.x......Cydia has most likely still saved all your blobs up to current without directly taking them off your device and you needing to upload to Cydia. just for you to know, if you JB your device on 4.x and never start Cydia till now, you will only have saved blobs for the 4.x version that your iPhone was at the time when you JB it (and of course what apple signing ant that point).
For each shsh blob signed by Apple you need to start cydia at least once during apple signing so that blobs can be saved on cydia!
it will not save them automatically for each version.
