Iphone 4 stuck in searching no service

Iphone 4 updated from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 now all it says is searching... then no service I have tried resting it several times and setting it back up over itunes. I've tried jailbreaking it but that didnt work so I took the jailbreak off and did it again. It's jailbroken now but on the old redsnow. I've seen sevral videos about a fix but they were dated back to 2010 and I wasnt so sure about trying them and they kept saying unlock and I needed to get to 06.15.00 and I couldnt find anything to help me do that. Anyway does anyone know how to fix this and do ya think if I update to ios 6 will this fix it. Im on bb 04.12.11 Anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried rebooting, respringing, reinserting sim etc? Do you require an unlock?

If AT&T is your carrier I doubt you need your phone unlocked so you wouldn't need the 06.15.00 baseband. The iPad basebnd 06.15.00 doesnt work for the iphone4 anyways. If you do need an unlock and you were previously JB'n with ultrasnow then you had baseband 01.59.00. The bad news would be since you didnt use a custom firmware when upgrading to 5.1.1 then you upgraded your baseband which means no more software unlock with ultrasnow.

If you need an unlock buy one from a service off eBay for $15 and up and it will be factory unlocked.

Yes, I've tried all of that multiple times today I rest it and put it on ios 6 but it did not help. I originally had a guy repair the speaker. He said he jailbroke it with ultrasnow but my sims card wasn't in it does that matter and that was when it was on 5.0.1 I'm hoping he just didn't plug something up on the inside. I've tried everything I know to do. Also its on at&t so I don't need an unlock I never meant for it to be unlocked just rejailbroken because I lost my jailbreak when he opened it up.
