O why did i have to update damn it i should of waited i had 5.1.1 forever and a day but redsnow would always unexpected quiet in the middle of jailbreak and stupid 6.0 came out said lets see whats good with it. REGRET

Just re-restored my 4s to 5.1.1, worked perfectly. I didnt need to restore but i started to doubt if i had updated through itunes after i got my replacement phone from apple.

Now i know ive got a permanent jailbreak for my 4s

New features of the latest iphone firmware are never worth losing your jailbreak for.

I am stuck with my new 4s on 5.0.1. I am only hoping how to extract the current shsh blob one day.

Might be the wrong place to post this but I believe I read that PlanetBeing has an "almost" full tethered jailbreak on i5 but he said it required a Dev account... That's progress, right?

You need to Re-run Redsnow again.... if error occured (mismatch apTicket) you have to put your device in DFU Mode again and Open Redsnow ... select EXTRAS > EVEN MORE > IPSW > select your ipsw again.... (5.1.1).... that the solution if you get an error (apTicket)...

Thanks for this tutorial! I just re-restored my iPhone 4S with zero problems! All I did was plug in the iPhone and follow the appropriate directions in the tutorial.

Pass... untethered JB iOS 5.1.1 on my iPad 3 and iP4 and I'm not missing a thing. Only fuss is apps that are updated and don't wanna support iOS 5.x and below. These app devs are just plain jackasses.
