Sorry if you already tried that. I tried a thread search of "0.0.0.0" and nothing came up. :x Don't have time to trawl through 18 pages atm.
I remembered that the adblock sbsettings toggle from now defunct modyouri swapped to 0.0.0.0 to speed up things. Something along the lines of system doesn't have to process all the connections back to itself (127.0.0.1).

TCP/IP software applications also use 0.0.0.0 as a programming technique to monitor network traffic from any valid IP address. While connected computers do not use this address, messages carried over IP sometimes include 0.0.0.0 inside the header when the source of the message is unknown.

127.0.0.1 is a loopback protocol for home. it is universal.

Thanks for the reply. Just one more question .. does the v1.3 deb file on the site include the sbsettings toggle? There seems to be an original version and a sbsettings toggle version, at least according to the repo. On the site it only lists "Cydia Ads SUCK!!!".

1st post on this forum. I signed up only for this thread. You're doing a GREAT JOB man.
The few App Store apps that have shown ads until i have installed your app, are not showing anymore. Ads CREEP ME OUT.
The other day, i bought 2 in-app purchases in a game, 0.99$ + 1.99$ and that shit is still showing ads !!! WELL NOT ANYMORE !!!

So THANKS a lot.

Furthermore, i have 2 requests if i may:

1 - please change your typing font, the letters are too "crowded", it's very annoying and disturbing for the eye to read,
especially from an iDevice, i have to zoom in even more, just to see your posts.

2 - could you change the names to some more "normal" ones?
Like IDK: Cydia Ads Removal (or) Banner + (& SBS Toggle Edition & Uninstall Edition)

I mean, "Cydia Ads SUCK!!!" is weird.

Anywais, 2nd request is up to you, but 1st request is a must, your font is very hard to read on small displays, please change it.

I justmake the app someone else runs the repo but i will pass the info on and get it changed

Works like a charm... But you can remove the deb as it does NOT work all ads just about in bigboss show up I had to use the updated hosts file you provided and the repo link doesn't work anymore either.

I have an ipt4 and i have 80mb on a respring. I have been trying to cut down. For some reason my ipt3 could background 4 plus programs just fine. Maybe backgrounder is more stable then ios4 multitasking?

A host file does not take up ram ever but installing tweaks like adblock does

If your jailbroken you wouldnt really bother with OTA fresh update then jailbreak, or stay on 5.1.1 andwait for ios6 jb

Any idea why these would stop WeatherIcon from working? I can remove any two, and WI works fine, but I cannot remove just one and have WI still working lol. I tried changing them to 127.0.0.1 and same deal. For now I just removed them all together to have WI work again. It would stick on whatever weather I set and stay there until I removed these entries. What two do you think would be the best to keep out of the 4?
