is there any way to just figure out what ios its on
i dont want 2 update if its on ios 511

TU ask's cydia and apple servers for the blobs, and redsnow fetch will get the blobs of the device..

cant it wont let me itunes says i need to enter the pass because i tried the pass 2 times & that was limit i guess & the phone disabled itself i cant even power it off
& nothing else recognized it not even redsn0w
now im waiting for the battery to die & hopefully it wont be disabled still


@Rustii i dont know if its jb so ssh & cydia would kind of be out of the ?

& yes there is something else any way to make the dial pad to stay pressing one of the keys i tried a screw driver & a pen but they wouldnt stay pressing it so it would stay on & drain the batter faster any thing that i could use ?

it doesnt need to be kailbroken to get the blobs of the firmware that is on the device..
but then you said redsnow doesnt recognize it, so that is kinda not useful at all..

i say contact the person you bought it from and get the code. This is just a passcode to get into someone else's phone.

If they won't give it to you, then there is a good chance its was either lost or stolen. I sure as hell wouldn't want someone getting my info is they found my phone.

If you really did buy this phone lagit from someone, they should have no problems giving you the pin to unlock the device.

you can try and put the phone in dfu mode and see if redsn0w will detect it. You can try a restore from DFU with redsnow and have it search for 5.1.1 blobs. You can jailbreak it if redsn0w detects it in dfu and then shsh into the phone to remove password.

yea im killing the battery n then going to enter recovery mode by holding home then connecting it to my pc which shold do the trick im not to worried about any of the data on it just what ios is on it as of rite now 511 im thinking is best

Release power
Keep hold of home till enters DFU mode

Have the screen fixed...then look for that software that resets the pw....cant remember what its called at the moment....but it works used it a long time ago

Won't iTunes then install ios6.0 if your doing a restore?

what im going to do is try a 511 ipsw for the device & if it fails its gotta be 6 R lower which im not going to try them all so ill just do a fresh restore with 6
+ redsn0w mite recognize it in this mode fingers crossed

wow thats gay i guess now that Steveo is dead apple is going into power Hungary & ect. mode lol they kind of are forcing people to jb just to have the option to downgrade if they want
