Problem with 3G data on straightalk

Just wondering if anyone else is having any problems with ST data ?
On iPhone 4 5.1.1
Tetherme is set up correctly and everything, but for the last 2 weeks or so I have to turn off 3G and use only edge if I want any cell data even then its slow as hell and when i speed test i get strange results like 0.06mbs down 1.38mbs up. I even tried the sim in my old 3GS and same issue.
I guess I'll have to call straightalk and see what's up with my service.

I've been having issues with my data for the last two and a half months, it's been a pain trying to get Straight Talk to fix it.

My brother has ST and was having slow data for a week, but today his speed is back to normal, just have to wait it out I guess.

I was having an issue earlier where my internet was not working, couldn't even manage to make a speed test. After turning off 3G and putting my iPhone on airplane mode, then turning both back on, internet started working again.

Mine has been having issues, and right now, it is not working good, well, it does work but very slow.

i think is everybody with the same issue, me and my friends are suffering from the same, slow data, safari can open this page. etc... i call straigh talk and they make me change the proxy on my setting , it works but 30 minutes later the same , customer service try to help but they dont really know whats going on, im thinking going back to H2O but my wife iphone is on H2O and also is having problems, so i think we are f**k , AT&t is maybe stopping the netwok so others companies dont use their servise.... this really sucks big time......

That sucks big frog cause I was thinking about going back to H2O for this very reason. The data on Straight Talk is terrible but if H2O is just as bad then I'd rather just pay less and stick with ST. Can you run a speed test on H2O and post the results?

When I'm using ST data it is real slow for me also. Sometimes a banner pops up and says it has no Internet, and then goes away real fast and then connects. But it is supper slow.
I did a Internet test and it said download 0.60mbps and upload 0.35mbps.


Edit:Just checked my wife's phone and it's about the same as mine. Ranging from 0.16 to 0.60 on download

I also found this ST forum that has alot of complaints about slow data. I have posted a complaint and anyone else having issues should probably do the same.

I just did a speed test and it said 0.00 mb download and .14 mb upload. Wow

The speedtest app has been buggy ever since iOS 5.1 (it usually says 0.00mb download and somewhere from 0.5mb - 2mb upload for me)


I found that tethering my phone to a laptop/desktop computer and running a speed test through google chrome on the desktop to get more accurate 3G speeds. Once in awhile I'll have some weird 3G issue (but I did with AT&T also) but in general it's been 99% reliable for me.

For those having issues are you also sure you HAVEN'T gone over the 3GB data usage mark? I'm not sure if ST throttles but it's a possibility (I get warnings from ST when my data usage exceeds 3GB so that's the cutoff point it seems).


Also, I use an older version of TetherMe (2.20-30) instead of the latest version found through the sinful repo (2.3.9 or whatever)... I found the latest version to be kinda "buggy" for me compared to the older version.

Just got off the phone with customer service and they had me change my proxy to something I've never seen anywhere in the Internet. It brought my data to a screeching halt and I had to educate her on the proper settings, she was very disappointed when I asked for a manager who may or may not call me back tomorrow. I started not getting texts from other people today as well. I'm pushing for a free month of service

I just uninstalled my apn and rebooted then used unlockit, selected straight talk instead of mnvo(or whatever) and my 3g works i will update if i start having problems again
