How to tell if iPhone 4 logic board?

Buying a broken iPhone 4 in hoped to fix it. Does not power on and is missing heat dissipation film.

How can I diagnose if the logic board is messed up? Doesn't turn on, I don't have the phone yet but that's what I was told and will recieve probably Thursday.

Thanks

Try using iTools to see if the phone truly works or is broken.
I had a similar situation. When I got the phone I plugged it into the computer and started iTools. The phone powered up but no display. It was just a bad screen. I could actually see the phone files and the desk top in itools. if that doesn't work you may need a battery. Good luck!

No it is not common , but you didn't told us what damaged the idevice so it is hard to determine if the mobo possibly could have taken damage by whatever event the damage occured..

How much did you pay for it?

THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!

Look i dunno what 's all people's problems in relation to water damaged idevices.Makes me wonder if they ever have been in a school and if what they did all day long there !

If my iphone would take a dive in water . I would disassemble it .

Once you have it all disconnected and in pieces, run to the cabinet or closest pharmacy and grab yourself some Isopropyl Alcohol.

DO NOT GET ETHYLENE ALCOHOL - IT WILL WRECK YOUR LCD SCREEN BEYOND REPAIR

Isopropyl alcohol is used to clean electronics while Ethyl Alcohol is used to dissolve certain PBC plastics and LCD screens, much like the screen on your iPhone.

Leave it for drying out several hours and then assemble it again .It's very simple chemistry.
The alcohol displaces the water from the same corners where the water could get too.
The alcohol will evaporate without leaving residues.

It's simple and once you understand the principle.
And then I read again the use of rice if you want a device had become wet.
What a horse shit

I don't understand why people throw money away by buying water damaged phones? It doesn't make sense, I'm assuming that the reason is just to have an iPhone in this case?
Any money you pay for a water damaged device is not a gamble, there is no way you can keep the phone without spending any extra money on a battery and a screen. 99% of the times the phone won't last a month. It's a mugs game, I rather buy a cheaper phone without water damage than an iPhone with water damage.
This is just my opinion, obviously, but I'm sure it makes sense to many of us

Water damage can sometimes be repaired. But buying one... Not so sure about that unless it's like 10 bucks.

I mean I already have an iPhone, I just bought to see if I can fix.

Apparently it's been water damaged for 2 days. I'll try the alcohol thing since I saw many videos ommyoutube before. If not I'll sell it back
