Prometheus Released (Downgrade / Upgrade iOS With SHSH2 Blobs)

You can now download Prometheus tool to downgrade or upgrade unsigned iOS firmware version with saved SHSH2 blobs.

Tihmstar, who happens to be the developer behind the tool, has also released detailed videos showing the step by step instructions on how to go about using his tool to downgrade or upgrade a compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch device running on an unsigned iOS firmware version.

Before you go ahead and check out those videos though, go through the following points to see what exactly you will need in order to make use of Prometheus.
  • You can use Prometheus only if you have SHSH2 blobs saved for the unsigned firmware you are downgrading or upgrading to.
  • If you don’t have SHSH2 blobs saved for the unsigned firmware you want to downgrade or upgrade to, you can no longer do so as Apple has closed the signing window.
  • If you want to save SHSH2 blobs for a firmware Apple is still signing, you can follow our instructions on how to do so here.
  • You can upgrade/downgrade 9.x to 9.x with SHSH2 blobs saved for both versions.
  • You can also upgrade/downgrade 10.x to 10.x as long as SHSH2 blobs are saved for both versions.
  • Upgrade from iOS 9.x to 10.x is also possible as long as SHSH2 blobs are saved for both versions.
  • Downgrade from iOS 10.x to 9.x is not possible.
  • There are two methods, one which requires jailbreak for the firmware you are upgrading or downgrading from, and the second method which doesn’t require jailbreak for the firmware you are upgrading or downgrading from. Details, limitations and instructions for both, jailbreak and non-jailbreak methods, can be seen in the videos embedded below.
  • Depending on the method you choose, you will be making use of futurerestore, nonceenabler and img4tool utilities, together they basically makeup Prometheus as Prometheus itself doesn’t have any graphical interface of its own.
  • Prometheus works on 64-bit devices only. On iPhone 7/7 Plus it “may be iffy” at best.
  • Prometheus is available on Mac only at this time. Windows and Linux versions will be available later.
Now for instructions, as mentioned earlier, depending on whether you are already jailbroken or not, you will be making use of different Prometheus utilities and methods.

If you are currently jailbroken, and are upgrading or downgrading to a firmware with SHSH2 blobs saved, follow the instructions in the video embedded here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXxpUH71-s4

If, however, you aren’t jailbroken, and are upgrading or downgrading to a firmware with SHSH2 blobs, then you need to follow the instruction in the video embedded below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIMx2Y13Ukc

Prometheus in its current state has a lot of limitations and maybe confusing for a lot of users. But at least there’s some progress now on unsigned firmware downgrading front. Hopefully future revisions of Prometheus will reduce some of the limitations it has right now and will make it more user-friendly for everyday jailbreakers.

Prometheus and set of its utilities required for this can be downloaded from here(https://mega.nz/#!jhlgyAAY!gNLdv2c0s...Xia1jhzXhyE0Do).

Nice post moved to front page but you need to learn how to properly put up youtube vids this is 2nd time i had to fix for you.

---------- EDIT ----------

So basically as of right now anyone who is presently jailbroken on 10.1.1 with there NEw Iphone7 or + and you may or may not of saved your Blobs if you screwed up and and were forced to go to IOS10.2 you still can't get back to IOS 10.1.1

or If you are not Jailbroken and saved your Blobs and missed IOS 10.1.1 and are still below or maybe even went to 10.2 you still can't get to IOS10.1.1

If i am wrong some one set me straight

I see how you fixed it now, wasn't really sure how to post the links. Won't happen again.

Also but yea based on what I've been reading you are right , it seems useless as of now ecause ios 10.2 isn't jailbreakable

EDIT

Ok I think as long as you saved the blobs for 10.1.1 as long as it was still being signed, then jumped to 10.2 and also saved the blobs you can go back and forth.

I think you better go back and watch that video. Acording to that if you are jailbroken and your device wasn't jailbroken on 9.0.1 it won't work.

So if you have a Brand new Ip7+ and jailbroke with 10.1.1 and were forced to Update to 10.2 even if you saved blobs it is not gonna happen. So unless i am seeing something else.

it also clearly says " Downgrade from iOS 10.x to 9.x is not possible."

But I never said anything about going to 9.x , I'm talking going from 10.2 to 10.1.1; these Ammon jail broken version so I'm assuming it should work , although I am not sure if you can save blobs when not jail broken

i actually did save my blobs in Iphone 7+ and i am not JB yet. That is things that stops me from JB is going back to 10.1.1 if i am forced to go to 10.2.
But if i know i can infact go from 10.2 and back and forth then i would be playing right now.

I did it before window closed from apple and i kept copy on dropbox this is from My Iphone 7+
I did my Iphone6+ and Ip7+ buty forgot all about my ipad and next day window was closed and now ipad no way i can get the 10.1 or 10.1.1 blobs

Why have you posted this in here? This thread is about the downgrading iOS versions.

Also Saurik just realeased 1.1.28~b3 which he recommended on Reddit for 10.1.1 JB users.
The link you provided is for 1.1.27?!

Tihmstar has stated that the TSS servers are still up and running.

Does that mean Prometheus still works I have no clue. Sure wanting to confirmation though.

Additionally he stated there "might" be and issue with iPhone 7 blobs that have been saved with tsschecker.

No clue what that means I'm sure we will get more info in the next few days.

Apple have patched their servers. And iPhone 7 & Plus are not supported at all.

So in order to go from 9.0.2 to 10.1.1, I need SHSH blobs for 9.0.2 as well as the new 10.1.1 blobs? Or just the 10.1.1 SHSH blobs that I saved when the app came out a couple weeks ago? Thanks in advance.
