You should still be able to get into dfu mode
Hold power and home buttons until it reboots
As soon as you see the apple logo dissapear start counting to
10 (you should notice the apple sign reappear and dissapear after 7 seconds) then release the power button and keep holding home

Keep trying. If it can boot to the apple logo at least then you can get to dfu. Your timing is off that's all

Do you know what iOS version was on it?
What iOS are you wanting on it?

Other software boot options...
RecBoot
ireb
redsn0w 0.9.14b2 or newer will force DFU

can you force basic recovery mode (disconnect, power off, hold home, connect to iTunes)?

Hello guys, I have, a similar problem, except for the fact that I cant get my computer to recognize it, It only runs the boot loop when I plug it to the wall charger. Ive tried many cables, and many computers, It´s still the same. I can get it to go to the USB cable I tunes logo image by plugging it to the wall charger while holding down the the home button, but if I leave it long enough, It will reboot by itself. If I let the reboot to go through IT takes me to the config / Languages screen, asks for password and if I put the password in it just says connect to itunes, but of course if I unplug, It turns off. I am running, an Iphone 3gs, 5.1 Fw, unknown BB tho it could be 5.14 but dont take my word for it. the fact is that my brother in law handed it to me, told me if I fix it I can keep it. So here I am. another thing he said he took out the sim card, and then the problem happened, he said he never tried putting the card back in. I´ve read it could be a battery problem, but Ive also read it doesnt necessarily work to change the battery on similar problems. oh another thing is it´s a tethered JB that he was running. So anyways any help is appreciated it. thanks.
