Stuck at iOS 4.3.5 tethered version

Hi guys,i'm new to this forum stuffs.I need help for my iphone 4 which have been using the iOS 4.3.5 tethered version.I'm kinda sick and tired of being unable to switch off and on my phone and other things that the tethered version restricts me from doing.Since that there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.5,I'm thinking of updating to a newer version and jailbreak again but i'm not sure of doing it safely without losing all my data on the phone.Can anyone help me?

first of all go to Cydia and please post here for what versions you have saved shsh blobs.

if you have a little luck I will be able to guide you to update your iPhone to 5.x version so you can have untethered JB.
