iPhone 5 pre-ordering experience

I pre-ordered the iphone 5 about 15 minutes ago, so stoked! I was debating on whether to go through at&t or apple so i just had them both up and refreshed automatically. Trying at&t first, the awesome "Big Event" page never got passed the loading screen after one minute of waiting after the countdown, I tried to a manual upgrade by logging in and the iphone 5 came up, yay! So i applied for the upgrade and .... at&t failed. i couldn't get passed the upgrade screen, "could not complete request" showed 3 times on 3 refreshes, so now to give apple a try. After wasting about 3 minutes with at&t (which im sure by now everybody knows 3 minutes is a lot of delayed time with the yearly pre-order process), i ordered from apple no problem. There was a slight hiccup when applying for the order to get to the process order screen, a nice big "OOPS! page not found" appeared. Just a quick refresh and everything was back to normal. Needless to say I will never trust at&t for reliable online service, apple is the way to go.

Yeah I ordered mine as well this morning directly from apple without any hiccups. I don't like contract.

Ordered mine thru the apple store app with no problem . The only thing I've notice is i didn't get a cofirmation email like it said I would , I did take a screenshoot of my order number and it also appears in my account

was due upgrade so upgraded online got confirmation emal from orange will be sent out on release date

i preordered it too and it was no problem because i used my phone and not the internet.
its well known that internet sites always have big problems at events like the iphone release.
when the battlefield 3 beta was released for pc all downloadsites crashed for some hours because every one was pushing F5 constantly and if enough people do that you can get every server down.

I preorderd from Verizon for myself and my wife. The preorder was available a couple of minutes before midnight. No problem at all getting both phones, plus number porting set up once they arrive. I will finally be off of AT&T's shitty network!

I have just taken the plunge and pre-ordered the 16GB in black (may change that to the 32GB not sure yet) as i was due an updrade with Vodafone, will be with me on release day.

I don't blame ya, but had to stick with AT&T to keep my grandfathered data plan. Total ripoff but don't have much of a choice unfortunately.

shits was crazy with the AT&T page. I start trying at 3:00 ET and was getting all kind of errors. I was not able to place my order until 6am in the morning. Will be here the 21.

I ordered mine through the Apple online store. It was no hassle at all - I got through the first time, and mine will be coming the 21st.

Where did it say by next friday? i assume you are buying from the store online....

Delivery dates already moved to 2-3 wks as the first batch already sold out!

Im in the uk wendee so mine is different. I just bought the 32 gb white sim free for £599. I know it's a lot but I like my gadgets.

I have no problems with AT&T in my area, your moving to Verizon but now you won't be able to talk and surf at the same time.

I ordered mine from the Apple site at 350 am EST. I had been trying for some time when the Apple store started loading again. I went thought the process without any problems. When I ordered, the site said it would ship on the 21st. The email received said it would ship in 1-2 weeks. I think I got in on the first batch. Let's hope I receive my phone next Friday.

I was due for an upgrade with AT&T so I paid $319.94 with tax for the 32 GB black.

I am getting more and more worried that I didn't make the first batch. It said shipping on the 21st but now looking at the order status, it says Delivers October 5th. I really hope I don't have to wait that long.
