Fake ios 6 firmware on 5.1.1

Sry if i posted this on the wring section .

Anywayy theres an app that requires ios6 or later i am sure it can work on 5.1.1 but because of the rquirement i cannot download it

My question is that the usual core services methode to fake firmwares work from 5.1.1 jailbreak (of course :p) to ios 6 ??

Download the app to your desktop and change the info.plist to say the min iOS is 5.1.1 instead of 6.0

Then use iTunes to install the app.

It's safer than changing your system plist to say its 6.0 but either should work.

I believe it will still work (assuming the app is from the AppStore & if the app truly works on 5.1.1) but be very careful as it will also trick Cydia to want to remove the rockyracoon JB package. So only spoof to dl the app and then put it back to 5.1.1.

Is there a previous version that still works or the old app is forcing an update to 6.0?

Now after thinking about it you might just want to do what kingof9x said as I think your AppStore might act funny if you spoof to 6.0.

I would assume you download the app via your pc, go into the iTunes/applications folder located on your pc and copy the .ipa to your desktop, rename the extension to .zip, unzip it, open the info.plist located in the xxxx.app folder with notepad editor etc and change the minimum iOS to 5.1.1 and save, then rezip, rename back to .ipa. Then you can add it back to your iTunes applications folder and install it via sync.

okayyy soo every time i change <string>6.0<string> to <string>5.1.1<string> i get cant open file for write

oh it worked all i had to do was to move the info.plist on the desktop and the replace it with the one in .zip

So is there an old version of the app that works or is it a server side check in the same app version that gives you a popup saying you must upgrade to use it?

Well, I have spoofed my 5.0.1 to 6.0 and don't recall any AppStore errors but someone else posted an issue. If you spoof the iOS I think you'll be fine as long as you put it back to 5.1.1 ASAP before you use any tweaks/Cydia etc. Then you can try to edit the info plist of the app with iFile.

If you have any AppStore errors afterwards, just sign out from settings app, reboot, then sign back in & the AppStore should reload.

If the app still crashes then most likely just not compatible.

on the old version it asks me to upgrade .. it pushes pop ups ! man i dont see why it wouldnt work for 5.1.1 its just app that gives live score of basketball league in my country , schedule , ranks ...
