Ipad baseband and IOS 5.1.1

I had a spare Iphone 3gs several months ago and I needed it unlocking. At the time the only option to me was the Ipad base band and it worked great. I have had no problem with it at all regarding the unlock.

I have another Iphone 3gs that didnt need unlocking both run IOS 5.01 with ajail break and both run really slow.

I wanted to upgrade to 5.1.1 with the up coming jailbreak to see if this will resolve the slowness, My concern is the 3gs unlock and what the best way will be to get it on 5.1.1

If I upgraded it in the normal way will it stay on that BB and the unlock still work?

You need to make a custom firmware to upgrade to 5.1.1
If you don't you will brick your device

Just open redsn0w and go to extras - custom firmware
It will tell you how to make one
Just read all the instructions

You will need to install ultrasn0w and ultrasn0w fixer
