How to jailbreak Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.2.2 [iOS 4.3 Build 8F305] using Seas0npass [Mac / Windows]
Today we are about to show you how to jailbreak your Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.2.2 [iOS 4.3 Build 8F350] using Seas0npass. Seas0npass is a one click jailbreak solution for your Apple TV 2G. So, without wasting any more time, lets get started..
NOTE: Seas0nPass provides an 'un-tethered' jailbreak for the latest 4.2.2 (iOS 4.3) AppleTV software.
Pre-launch checklist
Make sure you're running the latest version of iTunes.
Download Seas0nPass: Mac [10.6 or later] | Windows [XP or later]
A micro USB cable will be required to complete the jailbreak.
Disconnect all iPods, iPhones, and iPads from the computer before running Seas0nPass.
Using Seas0nPass to jailbreak the AppleTV
Step 1: Unzip the 'Seas0nPass.zip' file and launch Seas0nPass.
Step 2: Select 'Create IPSW'.
NOTE: To Build an older or pre downloaded firmware
Right Click on Create IPSW [PC]
Alt + Click on Create IPSW [Mac]
then browse/select your pre-downloaded firmware
Step 3: The latest AppleTV software will be downloaded and used to create a custom 'jailbroken' software file
Step 4: When prompted, connect your AppleTV using a micro-USB cable (leave power disconnected), and hold both the 'MENU' and 'PLAY/PAUSE' buttons for 7 seven seconds.
Step 5: iTunes will open automatically and start the restore process
Step 6: iTunes will confirm the restore when complete - your AppleTV is now jailbroken!
You will now see the Seas0nPass menu after connecting the AppleTV to your TV

So when and if I connect it to my computer, should I upgrade with stock iTunes firmware or restore with seas0npass?

Hi All,
Just joined up to the forum and new to all this.
Once I've jailbroken via Seas0npass how do I go about installing XBMC on my APTV2? All help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I don't care what that guide says, the only way i've even gone into DFU mode on my atv2s is WITH the power cord plugged in. When the guide says to plug in the usb cable, i also plug in the power cable.... then press menu and play/pause for 7 seconds and presto, i'm in DFU. Then i unplug the power cable (quickly) and let itunes do its thing.. Hope this helps someone out there...

Getting the device into pwned DFU is tricky
I hold menu+down till the lights flash rapidly
Then immediately switch to menu+play
till you can see the tv in iTunes ....
That was how it was done in greenp0ison
Never restored with seas0npass yet...
Hope it helps

I'm having the same problem. iTunes keeps giving me errors "3194". I looked it up and it says you must be running the latest iTunes for the built in updater to work with this device (Apple TV). Does anyone have a resolution to this??
I do have the latest level of iTunes.

to fix your issue...
download the latest version of tiny umbrella
click on "Advanced" tab
Remove check mark next to "set hosts to cydia...)
click on apply changes then exit out of tiny umbrella
your pc will reboot automatically, if not go ahead and reboot it
now you'll be able to restore to apple stock firmware or the custom firmware

Hi,
I'm new to all this, and i've NEVER used ssh before, so it's might be all my foult.
But when i use putty, and logging in my IP adress then trying to type in the password and "access denied" is all i get. The password i'm using is "alpine" tried it in every possible way.
So my questions is: Am i doing something wrong? Isn't the password "alpine"?`What's the password?
Probably a totally n00b question anyway...
EDIT: Also, the jailbreak went perfect, thank you very much!
