So, anyone still use iOS 3?

I know there are some devices that can't update to 4.0 or beyond. Anyone still using these? Do they work well with new apps?
iDevices:
iPod Touch 2nd Gen (MB Model) / 8 GB / whited00r CFW
iPod Touch 3rd Gen / 64 GB / iOS 5.0.1 Untethered
iPad 1 (Wi-Fi Only) / 16 GB / iOS 5.0.1 Untethered
iPhone 2G / 4GB / BlackDoor CFW
iPhone 3GS (White) / 16GB / iOS and bootrom unknown / bricked

Depends on the app. For example my 3G was 3.1.2 and had few issues with apps at least until I didn't read some info on iTunes where it tells you which devices the app is good with. Lesson learnt was hard as an app I updated was no longer compatible and I loved to play it. So to answer your question some are good others not.

Regarding Cydia it tells you if you are compatible or not. When you do get an app or tweak try to get the DEBS as this allows you to replace them easily.

Most apps today are not compatible on 3.x.x
Not many tweaks can be installed on such old devices

The devices still running 3.x.x do not have the system RAM required to operate must of todays tweaks
Though I still mess around with my iPhone 2g/3g on iOS 3.1.3 it is mostly for show

Ahh definetly not, I'm sure this isn't a postcount raiser to 100 in the wake of the Siri server announcement of SinfuliPhone

Ok

There are really some people out there who are giving a fuck about the latest apps and firmware.

Ummm let me guess that make 1 out of a thousand persons who are using their idevice in such a way.

Good we talked about that. Now lets go ahead.

What was the purpose of this question after all ?

Allright Pocahontas Where you kicking us into ? I wont discuss about the reasons for using win 3.11 wich are out of my comprehensive ability's.
Without any doubt thats a thing i even dont want to understand in any way, except it is some personal hobby, but in real life you cant do very much with that Os.

Does it have internet support @ all ?

That makes you also to one of a very few persons that are using still such an Os for reasons you can only tell us.

For the big part of users is this imagination horrible.

But still is the question i made unanswered in the room , what this thread is about ?

Considering the threadstarter involvement in this discussion ,i must admit that makes my concerns about the purpose of this thread really look stupid.

Lol... I'm not

But it was a lot more stable than the bloatware crap that followed for several years after it ..

I'm still comparing DRDOS to MSDOS

Yes, I am still using iOS 3.1.3 as i have iPod Touch 1G.. I am really happy with it.
Yes, There are many apps which doesn't work on it, But i try the old versions of the applications..and found to be working...

My iPod Touch is working amazing... Even i have increased the RAM Virtually and now i get around 80 MB RAM Free. instead of 60.

That makes my iPod run fast, But battery drains fast..

someone told you already that if you are using a virtual memory app can and will over long time spans seen kill your nand flash memory faster then without using this Mod.

The Nand flash ram is not supposed to make so many extra read and write cycles that these Mods are causing.

That doenst mean you will experience an issue ,but if you have already an answer why..

My 3G is still on 3.1.3 and it's basically shit

I keep it around since it's hardly even worth selling and just as a backup in case I ever need a spare iPhone for something. As for the apps, like already mentioned, it all depends on the app. Most apps are no longer iOS3 compatible. The ones that are haven't (obviously) been updated in awhile or have been updated but are missing a lot of new features. As a 3G owner myself...I honestly have no idea how some people still use it or any other ancient device as their primary iDevice...the shit is slow as fuck and just sucks all around

2g i'm on 3.1.3 whitedoor or blackdoor can't remeber. 3g is on 4.1 but runs alittle snappier on 3.1.3. 3gs on 5.0.1 and still runs great with alotta tweeks. Most new apps require 4+ iOS. Windows 3.11 is awsome when I need an alternate to my dosshell 6.22. VM mods are a bad idea for iDevice but since it's an itouch 1st gen guess it really don't matter, not much resale value. Your baseball is in my backyard.
Iphone 5 black 32gb 6 7.0.4 (untethered)

Iphone 3gs 16gb 5.1 (oldboot 24k)

Ipad 3 16gb 7.0.4 (untethered)

You offer me neither tit's nor a sammich.....GTFO!
