Hmmm. Pretty good performence on 3G.. i tried my self.. its good as 3.1.3 (Without Homescreen Wall paper)

Were you able to get MMS working? I tried the guides on whited00r's website and still couldn't get it to work. So I fled back to 4.2.1

I've been on whited00r since 4.1, never had any problems except with the occasional "safe mode" error (which I got with reg jailbreak as well).

I would like to test whited00r or perhaps even better, blackd00r, but I wonder som things. I would like to have the benefits of 4.2 so I hope the they will make a cfw from that. It would be nice to customize things like languages and memory-eating progs.

I just went whited00r myself, and I again love my 3G. There's a few apps I can't install, but it's my work phone anyway, so those aren't that important to me.

I installed WD on my sons 3g and although he does say it is now faster he complains that there are a lot of apps he cannot install.
Any advise on how to install apps that dont run on 3.1.3, or alternative app stores ??

I can tell ya several apps that dont run on 3.1.3 but i dont think that this is the question here.
You or your son need s to accept the fact that the iphone 3g is not supported anymore since firmware 4.2.1 was released.
And any 4.xx firmware is a hassle to go trough with the iphone 3g.
The only chance your son has is to download the 4.2.1 based whitedoor customfirmware to be able to use apps that demand for a min Firmware of 4.2.1
If you want your son to be able to use the latest apps and games you need to upgrade his hardware.
Sad but true.
