Garbled text messages

When I text my wife and friend they will receive my text garbled/ scrambled and its been only those two. I've researched all over the web and even called verizon and I've gathered multiple causes.... I updated to ios 5.1, jailbroke with redsn0w. I dont use emotion icons in my text. I was wondering if there is a tweak or fix for this cause all fingers point to apple. If anyone knows more about this issue, I could use the help cause this situation is very frustrating.....

Enter safe mode and see if the problem presists. If it does not, the it's a jailbreak issue. If its still happens in safe mode, then it's a problem on the carriers end.

Also, are you using iMessage or text?
How long has this been happening?
Give us a screen shot so we know what a "garbled text" looks like.
Hit the THANKS button if I have helped you!

I just turned off my iMessage, shut off my phone for a few seconds rebooted and so far it's working. I'll try putting it in safe mode if it's a bust. It's the text I send to my wife that gets scrambled and we are on Verizon but two different phones

Very interesting.
I hope its sorted as that can be very frustrating. It would be good to know what happens if you text via whatsapp, viber and iblacklist.

Also, to see if its your phone or rather your sim, can you swap sims in your fones? this way you can work out if it your phone or your sim thats causing the issues.

Post back if the outcome is good or bad as your issues could help others with the same problem in the future

Well turning off iMessage and putting my phone in safe mode didnt work. But I turned on the text count and my theory is when the count reads 70/70 rather than 160/160 my text wont go through. I might just try and re-jailbreaking using absinthe. Also my verizon iphone doesnt use a sim card making it a little harder to troubleshoot this issue. To be continued........

So far my theory is working. With the character count on, anytime the count goes from 160 to 70 it will be received scrambled. Also when you hold the "." and use the "..." option it'll automatically bring the bring the count down to 70 and render my text message garbled.

Not really, Itll show half of mine then other contacts texts would be mixed in sometimes with random symbols. So far the "..." theory works though. manually entering three periods instead of the "..." key seems to work constantly since my last post Ill try and update daily
