Is this right?
First let me explain that I just got my first iphone. Its the 4S model and it WAS running 5.1.1 out of the box. Stupid me decided to do the official apple update to 6.0 before reading that there was not a jailbreak option for it yet. So for the past few days I have been looking for a way to downgrade back to 5.1.1 but now realize it is not possible. Tonight I searched recent videos on youtube that claim to be for a 6.0 jailbreak on the 4S. Here is a link to something I found. There were no comments on the vid or the link, I just wonder if this is ligit?
www dot devteamjailbreak dot com
Thanks for any information you can give me

Thats what I figured but, I thought it was worth an ask. I really wish I had done some research before accepting the iOS 6 upgrade.

Does jailbreaking slow the performance of the phone? I've heard a few people say that after performing a jailbreak, their phones slowed down noticeably. Sorry for the noob question, I've been an Android user for years and just now have stepped over to the world of iOS, lol.

I have jailbroken all my idevices and speed is not an issue.
The only speed issues you might expect are when reception sucks.
When and if you have many Tweeks running but even then don't worry.
Some users try to increase their speed by removing things and there are posts on this site that relate. Becareful though.
Or you could install some Tweeks that try to increase speed but as I said I've never had issues.

You do have an iPhone 4s so speed will not be an issued. I have several tweaks installed on my 4s and I haven't had any problems at all.
However if you are concerned, just install what you NEED.

Is there a tethered JB for the 4S? I looked all over youtube and couldn't find anything. I'd be willing to use the tethered for now.

Nope
Nothing for A5 (4S) and A6(Iphone5) only devices which have the tethered JB is the iphone4 which users a bootrom exploit that makes the iphone4 jailbreakable for life.
As for a jailbreak slowing down your phone. Nope. The only reason why people say it slows down is usally a jailbreak is applied to a phone that has just been freshly restored/new firmware which has nothing on and its fast.
once you start adding apps, tweaks, cydia apps, fiddling about with things, then the phone becomes bloated just like windows and thats not the fault of the jailbreak, just the user adding stuff.
Just try and keep tweaks n modifications to a minimum and the phone should be fine

Yeah thats true, millions of free apps and you can still use the phone for all the usual stuff.
I have over 600 apps on my phone and without a jailbreak i would end up with about 20 that are usable lol So a jailbreak for me is very important.
Im thinking of getting an iphone5 soon so il be waiting patiently with millions of others. At least i have my iphone4 to keep enjoying "free" apps

For fuck sake people, research before updating. No offence to the op but everyone knows the 4s has been on thin ice in terms of jailbreaking. If you had held off till the new redsnow then you would have a permanent jailbreak on 5.1.1 with the ability to re-restore.
As it stands you'll have to wait for the ios 6 jailbreak, which you wont be able to re-restore when they stop signing ios 6 unless they come up with another exploit.
It pays to do some research..

No need to be rude.
I said in my first post, I am new to iphone. When I upgraded I had no idea about jailbreaks and what not. I turned the phone on and had an official upgrade from apple, so I did it. It was only AFTER the fact that I realized that jailbreaking would allow me more freedom. I'm sorry for being a "noob".....

Hey dont take it to heart, there will always be people that assume people know everything. Ironically if we did, no one would ever ask questions lol To someone new to the scene, everything is complicated and hard to follow, hence the questions.
Theres no such thing as a stupid question
just a stupid answer...

I dont assume people know everything, my comment wasnt aimed directly at the op, i understand he's new to this and thats fair enough. He just took it bad because he's not used to the way we talk around here, this isnt a normal forum

Yes this forum is different because in some situations we can express ourselves without getting banned in others the ban hammer comes down. All depends on the person reading and/or posting.
Now in this case we have a new user who has come from the dark side (android) into the light (iOS) and has no knowledge of his new toy.
Now in terms of knowledge he is what we call a noob and as we all know everyone tends to start off as one and as they learn lose that status in the case of others well different names can be used.
Our user here has asked for help/advice and has expressed that he is brand new so I would assume advice would be towards helping him out which some of you have done (well done guys).
On a side note this is the users thread and does not need others making posts addressed to all others who are experienced but sometime stupid users.
As we say you can express yourself but unless it's a debate or your post don't be an ass and thread jack.

All the info he needed was in my first post, so i was trying to help. I just happened to add a few comments of my own addressing some of the issues with the 4s at the moment. Is that not allowed now?

Didn't say it wasn't allowed but maybe how you come across is very negative.
For example: For fuck sake people, research before updating. No offence to the op but everyone knows the 4s has been on thin ice in terms of jailbreaking. If you had held off till the new redsnow then you would have a permanent jailbreak on 5.1.1 with the ability to re-restore.
Your free to say this but you might also get the same back or comments about it.
Either way peace.
