What's the deal with 9B206 - Can I still JB?

Hi. My family has an iPhone 4s, 4 and iPad 2 all running on 5.0.1. From what I've read Apple has released 9B208 and none of the above devices can now be JB using Absinthe 2.0.1. Is this correct? So I just downloaded 9B206 and was hoping to Shift + Restore to update to 5.1.1 and JB. Will this work? I can't find a defintive answer...

Absinthe 2.0 supports following devices:
iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPhone 4 CDMA, iPhone 4S, iPad 1, iPad 2 Wifi, iPad 2 GSM, iPad 2 CDMA, iPad 3 Wifi, iPad 3 CDMA, iPad 3 Global, iPod Touch 3G, iPod 4G and AppleTV 2.

Support for iPad2,4will be added at a later date yeh 9B206 is the way to go download that and shift restore in itunes then jb with absinthe 2.0.1

if u need to preserve ur baseband use snowbreeze to make a custom ipsw with 9B206 u download first

9B208 is for only AT&T iPhone 4/s gsm phones. Read it was a bug fix for 4G networks If it was a JB patch from apple it'll be released to all devices and not just gsm phones.

D/l the ipsw to your desktop and do a shift restore in iTunes then use absinthe 2.0.1 to JB

I've heard that the updated version doesn't work right now for absinthe, but I think that's only because Absinthe hasn't been updated to recognize it yet.

Anyways, do what he said, shift + restore should work since Apple is still signing it.

Why can't you use the older version of absinthe to jailbreak your iPhone 4s and iPad 2 on 5.0.1?

And then use Redsnow to jailbreak your iPhone 4 on 5.0.1.

That's what I am talking about. Unless u have issues or your device came with 5.1, 5.1.1. Just j/b 5.01. Really no difference. Especially not enough to go through restore process.

I'm already JB on 5.0.1. In everyone's opinion, should I just stay?

Nothing wrong with 5.0.1 and nothing really worth updating to 5.1.1.

If I were you I'd stay on 5.0.1 unless you aren't happy with 5.0.1.

Thanks, I'll stay put. My OCD always makes me want to try the newest JB.

Can I ask how it was running like shit? Everything is basically fine with my iPhone 4, except the response time. Some apps take several second to open up. I just chalked this up to being normal with a JB iP4.

That's the thing, I don't have many tweaks installed. I've tried to delete anything I don't need or use. It's tolerable though.

Even if one needs to use 9B208, Absinthe has been updated to 2.0.2 so that it Jailbreaks 9B208 as well. See Home page.
